Depends on what you're looking for. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week and were not pleased. Firstly, it is advertised as "no dogs allowed" yet the owner has at least three that will beg as you eat your breakfast. We arranged for our dog to stay at home because of what it said on the ad, so that was annoying not to be able to bring our dog while having others in our space on the property. ** I gave two stars as the cleaning staff seemed honest and did a good job each day. Upon arrival the owner, Aude, said she has a friend we could rent a car from for a "really good price" who she was on the phone with before we had the chance to bring our bags inside our villa. She tried asking us for a commitment to the rental on the spot, and when we told her we needed more time she said her friend needed an answer within the next 30 minutes. On one hand, it was nice to have the option at our finger tips; on the other we felt rushed and slightly pressured. After waiting three hours for Aude's friend, Aline, to arrange our rental and once experiencing how rude Aline was, we decided against that rental. We told Aude about our experience with Aline to which Aude replied, "Oh, it doesn't matter, we aren't close and it's just business." All of a sudden they aren't close friends...? We ended up renting from "Holiday Rentals" for the same rate ($40/day) which we would highly recommend as they were great. Rick, from Holiday Rentals, drove our car to us within a half hour of deciding against Aude's friend and Rick even showed us to the local grocery store before leaving (at no extra charge). He was pleasant when we returned the car too. He arranged to come into the shop on his day off, to collect the car, so we could have it for all our needs until the last minute of our trip. Within the unit at Eva Luna, there were cockroaches and a water leakage which we couldn't find the source for. To top it all off, by the end of the trip we realized that money was stolen from us and when we confronted Aude and her husband, Jerome, about it they refused to return it to us despite an extensive debate. We eventually had to make the decision not to waste the rest of our vacation in a high stress environment and left one day early without the money. We arranged for different accommodations for our last night and enjoyed the beautiful beaches in Las Terenas. There are plenty of other villas and accommodations all throughout Las Terenas that it is worth having a look into for yourself. I don't typically post long negative reviews, but my partner and I feel that it is important to save others the headache we went through. There are many other rentals right on the beach. Enjoy your trip, we suggest, at somewhere other...
Read moreMy friend and I needed a break from city life in New England. We found Villa Eva Luna both delightful, warm, clean and safe. We settled in nicely to the smiling staff bringing steaming themos's of coffee each morning shortly followed by warmed banquettes, croissant, bowls of local fruits, freshly squeezed juices. My travel companion is gluten intolerant, so the staff prepared fresh scrambled eggs each morning. ||We are both world traveler's, discerning eyes and can be hard to please. As the beautiful days rolled by we felt the stress of life fall off our shoulders. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathrooms modern and pretty. Housekeepers are fastidious and honest. The owner/manager Aude checked in with us personally every morning and afternoon, suggesting and organizing massages, restaurant reservations and taxis. Do not miss going to Coson Beach, eat at Luis's on a weekday. Spend the entire day there.||The lovely pool at Villa Eva, is clean, fresh and so wonderful!!!||We did not want to leave after 10 days, we wanted more. The Villa Eva Luna is a very short gentle walk from the busy beach road. Our evenings were quiet and fun. The security guard was at the gate each evening to welcome us back. I would return to Villa Eva Luna in a second! And I recommend it highly,,,unless you are a person that wants a big crowded loud resort,,then Las Terrenas is not for you...thank goodness!||Thank you Aude and your staff for the most...
Read moreWe discovered Las Terrenas a few years ago, and have been coming back ever since. We found Eva Luna and never had a reason to look elsewhere to stay. The place is perfect for us. My friend and I traveled to get away from our crazy lives back in CT. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. We didn't cook, but other guests did. it's clean, the staff is very friendly, even though they do not speak English, we still had fun communicating with them. Great patio to have breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, coffee, juice and croissants; and great patio to have your own happy hour on! Aude is very accommodating, she will organize a dinner reservation, taxi, car rental, etc. She will check on you to make sure you enjoying your stay. the pool is lovely, and sometimes you are lucky enough to enjoy it all to yourself! you will feel safe here, as there is a very friendly security guard that works nights. It's less than a 5 minute walk to a great beach and some beach restaurants. for dinner, it would be a longer walk, so we rented a car. Las Terrenas is very laid back, so if you are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is the...
