This review will basically be about our experience not so much of the hotel itself! I must say this hotel was not what I expected or perhaps my expectations were too high. All in all it wasn’t expensive and could use a facelift and would be an absolute increíble hotel! But I must say the hotel has the a potential beyond any other, the staff made our stay, breakfast was included and just to say if you stay there don’t wait until 10:30 because they do not replenish but breakfast was pretty good, now let me tell you about the staff, we had dinner at their beach restaurant every night for 3 nights there, why? Easy the staff was amazing! |Magdalena and Ronny and Esther made sure our food was what we wanted.|Aylin and her witty jokes made our time awesome! Miguel made us laugh and made sure we had everything we needed and boy he could certainly get around each table cracking jokes.||But there Star was Veronica, she was beyond accommodating answered questions about the area, so accommodating she knew exactly what we needed and had the most incredible smile! She is definitely and huge asset.||If your looking for marble floors and glamour perhaps this is not for your but of your looking for rustic great price and clean place to stay this is your spot! |The beach...

I’ve stayed here multiple times. This is my favorite place to stay in Las Terrenas. The breakfast buffet was so fresh and delicious. The yummy drinks brought straight to you whether you are in the pool or laying out on the beach. I went with my elderly mother and we got a little apartment on the second floor. It could not have been more perfect. We would start early on the beach and end up in the pool later in the afternoon. Then after a shower back to the beach for dinner at their outdoor restaurant. Everyone was so nice and helpful from the second of arrival. A special shout out to Mary who really took such good care of us. What a kind and special soul. I look forward to returning. Family friendly, couple friendly, traveling solo friendly -...

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Playa Colibri. The service was excellent, and the included breakfast, while not fancy, was quite good. The beach is just a short walk away, which was incredibly convenient. The tiki bar cafe on the beach served delicious food, at least from what I tried.

However, I can't give the hotel a full 5 stars. While the rooms are equipped with everything you need, they are quite outdated. This outdated feel can sometimes make the rooms seem less clean, even if they are well-maintained. The overall hotel structure also appears old and could benefit from a refresh to improve its visual appeal. Despite these issues, the excellent service and great location still made for an...

We decided to walk to playa ballenas to see which accommodation felt good, since it was low season and lots of places felt a bit abandoned. So we ended up staying at Colibri, which had lots of people enjoying themselves (and not only pensionados like at other places in low season). The place is right at the beach, has a nice bar on the beach, the people are really friendly and helpful, breakfast is simple but delicious and the atmosphere is exactly what you expect from an accommodation at the beach: summervibes all over the place. The apartments are large and spacious, with good kitchen equipment (even a blender for a nice smoothie). Best choice on playa ballenas if you ask me.

We only used the restaurant, but on frequent basis during our stay. Mostly due to its location and large tables on the beach. Food was average and so are prices. We were unlucky only once to get wrong order and have bad service - most of the days everything was ok. Fair selection of foods and drinks, but you may need to wait a while before you get served. We tried hamburger (no difference between angus and national, so we sticked with cheaper one), ceasar salad (which was nothing special), calamari fried and grilled (got them cold), chicken breast file (which my kid loved),... It is very convenient that they also serve on the beach at sunbeds! We loved this.
