Hey, they are next door to another hostal. They cost less and are way better. $30 king room with tax. Shower is high power and hot. Restaurant connected to hotel $13 big plank of grilled chicken and burger dinner plates. $2 double sized bottle of Pilsener Beer. We didn't have breakfast due to 2am flight. You will save money if you ask questions like "When is a good time to get a $7 shuttle 11:30(early) or 12am?" There guy doesn't help put luggage in unless maybe you ask. He doesn't talk much so therefore no obligation to tip if you usually tip. They changed our room without hesitation due to working on making the place look better. Bed is fine. I can connect Roku if you want to just look for input button on main screen at top. I tipped the Restaurant cook and server. If you're wanting food quick this is not your place. Safe and a beautiful place they are working to make it look nice. It's Ecuador. Take your time it's a fantastic vacation nice preflight hostal. Total cost 2 people 1 room dinner shuttle to airport $50 + any tip you give. Would have got breakfast free also...
Read moreThe hostel is centrally located three blocks from La Plaza de Los Ponchos and very close to a variety of store, restaurants and coffee shops. The reception is available 24 hours although the doors to the hotel close sometime during the night. The hostel offers hot showers, but I did not get any hot water from the shower head. I didn't receive a tv control either. Although not necessary, you do pay for that service. The hostel is located in a busy street and the windows are not sound proof, so you will be hearing all the traffic. However, the view is amazing. Either from the room or their famous terrace. The beds are soft, but the quality of the sheets are thin and probably cold if left the window opened. For the price during weekdays it's worth it, but for weekend rates there are better hotels with a much better service...
Read moreExcellent value for money: a clean, quiet, and very comfortable stay with exceptionally kind service.
The location is excellent, close to the bus station, the famous market, many restaurants, and with a supermarket just across the street.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager even drove us to Laguna Cuicocha and back for $25 in a comfortable car, with interesting conversations along the way. He also gave us a free ride to the Panamericana bus stop for Tulcán, which was such a nice gesture.
Our room was very spacious, clean, and quiet, with a hot shower that worked well. Breakfast is brought to the room, which works fine, though a second chair would make eating more...
