Stay is ok - Kitchen not functional and dirty!! My review is mainly to warn people who plan to stay here and cook their meals: the kitchen is poor, lacking most of the utensils and it's dirty. We chose this place for the price/location. For this matter it was fine, as it's central located. The room is basic but comfortable, with enough space to open your bags. The double bed of our room was very good. But the kitchen, as already said is very basic and it's dirty - the stove, walls, cupboards, floor and eating area were dirty with 'long term' dirt and a lot of dust. There was almost no utensils in the kitchen and we had to ask for plates downstairs in the reception because there was no plate available. The few pans available had no lid and were very greasy and old. Even the soap to wash the dishes was very old and smelly. I am not a picky person, and I am used to cook in hostels and even camping, so believe me when I say this is NOT a good place to cook and eat. Also, I have seen many comments saying the same both here and Booking so I really think it's a consistent problem in this place. In addition, the water pump goes on all day and night, so if you have a room near/under the pump or if you seat in the hammocks, you will be hearing the pump goes loudly on and off. I would recommend the place if you are looking to save money, but for the same price I think you can find something...
Read moreWe had our luggage stolen from this place, the name has changed slightly along with new owners to, Rincon del Tourista a couple of years ago. We locked our room when we left for the day and according to the owner Sandra Chamorro, someone walked into the place (gate open) checked our room and then walked into reception (door open) and when to reception desk (door open) took our key went back to our room and spent some time there going through all our belongings and then walked out with a 80L trolley bag filled with souveniers from Chile, Peru, Galapagos and Ecuador over $2,000 worth. The security cameras were not working, and who ever took our belongings did not take any money from reception. They were so rude, No apology and even called the police to try and evict us while we were trying to gain police records and reports from...
Read moreReally great place, no beer allowed inside! it's quiet and peaceful. The owners and everybody working there are the friendliest people ever. P.e. I had to leave at 7 and breakfast starts at 7.30. Without me having to ask they offered to have breakfast ready before 7. The Booking.com price is for 2 people, if staying alone you pay half, breakfast included. The beds are new and very comfy and they don't just clean the room but the blankets as well and air the pillows. Some rooms may be dark but in others you get sun in the morning, it just depends in which one you are and if free you can choose. All rooms have windows and the shower is great with lots of hot water. There is a roof terrace with hammocks and beautiful sunsets. So forget all nagging reviews and go and find out...
