This hostel/hotel is beautiful, the patio area is gorgeous. Lots of beautiful plants, cozy hammocks to lounge in and in a convenient location on a quick walk from restaurants and shops. However, the service was less than ideal.
Like most places in the Galapagos, there are signs encouraging you to turn of the AC when you're not in the room. A few people in our group accidentally left it on and returned to find the remotes for the AC gone. While wasting power is bad, maybe Laura could've turned the units off by another remote rather than entering guests rooms without permission.
We had bought a bottle of wine in town and asked Laura if we could use some cups, but apparently cups of any kind are only to be used for breakfast.
Each room has one key, so when group traveling with a roommate who has a different schedule than you and they're already in bed when you get back later at night to find the front gate locked and then get yelled at and told "I won't let you in again" to the man it's not a great feeling. Maybe if you don't want to let people in after the gate is closed, provide two keys?
I was lounging in a hammock, got up for maybe a minute and in the minute the man hung the hammock back up, with my phone still in it. Sent me looking for my phone all over the room before realizing.

Read moreWe had an excellent stay at this hotel during our time in the Galapagos. The location was perfect — just minutes from the main strip and a short walk to the beach where we could watch sea lions! The service was great, though English was a bit limited, but that didn't hinder our experience. The hostel made great use of a public kitchen and fridge, which was a nice touch.||||Wi-Fi was reliable throughout our stay, and there were clotheslines to hang wet clothes after a day of snorkeling, which was really convenient. While there was no safe in the room, this seems to be the norm in the Galapagos. The included breakfast was good, though portions were a bit on the smaller side.||||The shower was surprisingly nice for a hostel, which was a welcome surprise! Overall, a great place to stay, and I'd definitely recommend it for its location...
Read moreMy 5 nights staying in a single room was perfect. Good mattress, they changed the towels every 2 days, quiete location, there's a common kitchen with fridge etc if you want to prepare meals by yourself. There's also air con and a fan in the room, but I didn't use any of them, as I prefer the natural air circulation just leaving the window open in the night (provided with mosquito net, although in May I didn't see many insects there).||||5 min walking from the Malecón (the coastal road with the pier, shops and restaurants) and 10 min walking from the airport. If you are looking for a simple, clean and cheap place to sleep, I would definitely recommend Hostal...
