I enjoyed the top floor room #11 including kitchen (hot plate and small fridge) shower and ‘sometime’ A/C for a week. No English spoken. $25 per night. Good water pressure. Large windows are screened and open fully to allow breeze at night. Fan works but A/C can only run a few minutes at a time before shutting off. Very hot during April. Manuel is a kind man and will fix whatever is required. Regarding A/C- it was easier to cool off on roof. The laundry is traditional and saves water. There was one very unusual request one morning. Manuel called me down to pose sitting across from him on bench in their beautiful garden. In our country, guest privacy is not interrupted for requests such as this. Guessing that this was a souvenir that will be kept by Manuel. It is not to be posted anywhere without my permission as it was not requested, nor was it given. Lovely person who speaks English. Ask him for a good price tour to El Junco Lagoon, Otoy Restaurant and Tortoise Farm - for a one day tour. Will not be...
Read moreI had booked our last night in Galapagos at this place (family of 5) and arrived around 5:30pm for check-in. They did not have a room available for us and suggested we take two rooms, which I declined as we have 3 kids under 10.
They told us to wait 1 hour as they get a room ready for us. This room (more like someone's house) is located closer to boardwalk however lacked a lot of amenities that we need. The host sheepishly showed us to our room (not enough beds for all of us) and ran off (did not provide contact information or anything). This room did not have wifi, towels, soap, or tissue paper. This room also had rodent feces in the room and trails of ants in the bathroom. Unfortunately by this time, there were no other places that could accommodate our family so we slept here.
We had a terrible experience with this host, had to source everything I mentioned above in order to spend the night. I would not recommend this place for anyone traveling with a family.
We booked our stay in March 2023 and I felt the need to write this review before we finish our...
Read moreThe main reason for the negative review is that I turned up to a building site. No mention of this when booking.
Work started at 7.30am right outside my room. To get to my room I'm ducking under a half built stair case. There are sheer drops with no barriers and much of the property is inaccessible. Frankly it is shocking that the place is open in it's current state.
I wasn't given WiFi details and the TV lost all signal. The room is basic but serviceable with a very cramped bathroom. AC works well and a fridge in the room is handy.
The property is located a 10 minute walk from the waterfront. Not a big deal but then this isn't a big town.
I'm writing this in October 2022. I would avoid until at least January 2023. Once the building work is done this place may well be nice as per other reviews. For now staying here is not just inadvisable but frankly given the lack of building safety...
