Sierra Negra — Hotel in Parroquia Puerto Villamil

I really don't like to write negative reviews, but I was disappointed with this hotel. The staff are lovely and the location is right on the beach. But the hotel is very basic, very dated, with lots of cracks, and needs modernising. My room had an unnecessarily long old wooden headboard that meant you couldn't open the wardrobe. Lots of old breaks have been 'patched up' - a break in the glass of the balcony door, cracks in tiles on the floor, old broken and dirty looking tiles in the bathroom. Also, be aware that it's not always great to stay in a hotel right on the beach because the weather can be terrible in the Galapagos Islands - the wind/storm on the ocean kept me awake for hours (and I can usually sleep through anything!). The wind also howls through the hotel, so my door flew open or slammed shut any time I entered or left the room. I just didn't find this place homely or comfortable, so after a couple of nights I moved to a hotel just 1 min walk away on the street behind and it was much better (and quieter from the wind). El costo no justifica el.producto recibido... No había suficientes colgadores de hecho había un colgador con 4 armadores en habitación de 4, no había donde colgar las toallas ni la ropa mojada... Un tv que no sirve, un balcón que a penas entrabamos, un aire acondicionado que no se dió el control aunque no haya hecho falta, una cortina que no cubría la ventana y entraba corriente de aire por la misma... No tenía sillas o lugares sociales... Se espero hasta un día antes de nuestra salida para informarnos que la reserva hecha no cubria la última noche cuando se habló de eso al llegar, por lo que hubo un sobreprecio no esperado a pesar de que fue un error mío al hacer la reserva se pudo aclarar eso el primer día... cuando Gino no estaba el resto del personal brindaba su servicio pero lo justo... Se hicieron un par consultas pero no sé recibió una respuesta satisfactoria, sólo Gino (administrador) supo darnoslas... El internet sólo sirve en la recepción a pesar de tener red en el tercer piso donde estábamos pero se indico que está no sirve y que si se quiere navegar se debe estar en recepción... Pero la red del tercer piso nunca se pudo probar... En internet súper lento quizás un tema de la isla y no del hotel... Pero con datos no sentimos está lentitud y con la red del hotel si... Para 200 la noche esperaría al menos una mejor infraestructura tecnológica... No tiene restaurante ni desayuno ... El único factor a destacar es la vista frente al.mar y la actitud de Gino a pesar de que se demoró hasta el último día en informar sobre el error en la reserva... Que conociendo la cultura del sobreprecio y la falta de control de costos en Isabela uno duda mucho de la forma de actuar... Hasta el último momento sentimos que nos querían estafar... El taxi al muelle de regreso se pacto en 4 USD y a mitad de camino el taxista quiso cobras 8usd... Para las lanchas se habló de que el costo niños va de 6, 7, 8, 9 y 12 años en distintos momentos incluida nuestra salida de la isla... Una cena a la carta para 3 comido justos no baja de 70 USD incluso la producción de verduras y frutas dentro de la isla con semillas estatales tienen un sobre precio... La fauna los cráteres y los paseos hermosos pero no regreso realmente me decepcionó la parte social...

the room we entered looked like nobody entered it for weeks.the only thing waiting for us were two beds with doubtful quality linen.oh'h I ..forgot- there was one towel for 2 people with a tennis-ball size hole. the wardrobe had no shelves there was no tables or anything to put your things.on the balcony i found two garden chairs which have seen better times.they were completely dirty like the floors and the bathroom.there was a hook in the bathroom on which i tried to put the towel.impossible task-it broke into pieces in my hands.then i decided to take a shower after being travelling for14 hours.no hot water.no toilet paper.if you like such an adventure book this...
