Utterly unacceptable!! Let me tell you a little story of what this hotel did to me.... I booked their best suite for a 5 night stay 26-31 July 2018. My reservation was made on January!!. So i call the property 2 weeks before the dates of my stay and ask them if everything is ok with the reservation. They informed me that everything is ok and that i i don't need to pay anything before arriving to the hotel and that no money would be withdrawn from my account. Fast forward to the 25th at 12 at night ,just before my travel to Cairo, i get a message that the hotel tried to get money from my card...the message said that they tried but they couldn't get any so they were giving me 24 hours to update my card or my reservation would be cancelled...Well i was checking in, less than 12 hours from that message so i thought it wouldn't be a problem anyway, but I give them a call just to tell them that I'm going to be there any way so there is no need for trying to take money fron my card.... They tell me they have to ask the manager and call me back.... So when they call me back I couldn't believe my ears 😑 They explained to me how they thought my reservation was a practical joke on their hotel so they just gave the suite to someone else...... My response was simply... My reservation is still active on booking and just ten minutes ago you tried to charge me the value of the room.... I tried everything but they wouldn't budge...they even offered to give me another room at a crappier hotel...for the SAME PRICE..... These people are charlatans, and thieves....thank god i called booking and they cancelled my reservation with this hotel and booked me a much better one with lower price. They funny part is, that the hotel wanted to charge me for cancellation of my reservation......
I can't stress this enough.... don't trust this hotel, you will...
Read moreI would have rated this 3.5 stars if I could, as 4 stars I think is too much...but 0.5 is not an option, so 3 stars is enough.||The best thing about this hotel is ofcourse the view, wich indeed is great, with the Nile and also the pyramids (if you book a room with this view). We had a very nice feeling to stay in the balcony and watch the sunset.||Also, the staff is polite and helped me to order some food and drinks that we ate in the balcony. Also you can buy sheesha and smoke it in the balcony. The room was spacious and clean.||On the other hand there are some negative aspects also. The hotel itself is just a part of a big building, so only the 38'th and 39'th floors are for the hotel. The elevator looked a little bit shabby...Although clean, in the bathroom was a strong smell like a shop full of plastic china stuff (it was from the shower courtain); not that big of a problem, but still. ||There is no restaurant like they say (at least on booking.com), but just a room with some tables to eat. The breakfast was quite poor, an omlette and some gem and the kitchen looked not very clean.||Also no towels changed or cleaning the room in the morning. And sound proof not good. The idiot next room waked us up at 3 AM in the night because he banged the door and talked loud on the balcony...||Poor wifi in our room.||||All in all, it was an ok stay, great view, but a little too expensive for what you get. We paid 110 euros for 2 nights on the room with nile and pyramids view; I think a fair price would have been around...
Read moreWe (family of four) had made a reservation to stay for a night in Royal Galaxy Suites in early September 2018. The reservation was made over a month in advance.||On the day when we arrived at the hotel, the receptionists stated that they had given the room to someone else as tried to debit the amount from the card but were unable to (this has never happened and I've used that card in over six countries including Egypt). They had sent a mail through booking.com to update card details but I was unable to access as I was traveling through the day. ||||They offered to send us to another hotel which was in a more remote part of town. When we arrived there, they stated that this would cost USD 90 instead of the USD 70 that was the original price. The rooms were of poor quality and they were just trying to take advantage of tourists who do not know the city well. We refused and moved out to find our own accommodation. They realized that we didn't take bait and within five minutes they sent the receptionist boy downstairs telling that the price was negotiable and that they would match the earlier price. However, we had decided to figure things out ourselves and walked out.||These hotels use this as a business model to show fancy locations and rooms to customers and send you to another place (with a poorer quality) when you actually turn up.||I also lost my faith in booking.com in allowing such hotels to operate. Never ever book...
