Prime Residence Heliopolis — Hotel in Cairo

Recently spent about 2 weeks at prime residence Heliopolis. The place is great. the staff were also great, aside for one receptionist (has a bit of an attitude) who tried to lecture me when I extended my stay, absolutely ridiculous behavior on his part. Notable mention to Michael and Mohamed (night shift) excellent receptionists and a pleasure to deal with. My biggest complaint with the building in general is the WiFi is horrible. Possibly the worst WiFi connection I’ve experienced throughout my travels globally. Expect to struggle with any and all tasks that involve basic internet. I was forced to hotspot on my line for the entire time as the WiFi connection was too weak to even open email attachments at times. This review would have a higher rating if the building was better equipped to support people looking to work while staying. Apartment-style building. Rooms look nice but are poorly constructed. Located on a very busy multi-lane street (5-6 lanes in each direction), which makes it dangerous to access by foot - this also means constant traffic noise. Staff wanted to charge extra for having to wash the towels after check out (used for regular towel purposes, not to clean up spills or anything unusual). This is essentially a hidden charge for using the provided towels. Shower door does not close all the way so water goes everywhere. People smoking throughout the building - windows in room open up into main hallways so room easily becomes polluted with smell of cigarette smoke. Not much for amenities, no gym or food option. I’m staying in Prime Residence since more than one week right now and I’m having a good stay until now except for few problems with a receptionist. After I alerted the staff, manager and islam they fixed the problem in minutes and islam is always ready anytime, morning/night to help you with everything regarding the property issue or reservation issues to. The staff (cleaning service) is very nice and super helpful. Thanks really to islam because without him and the manager as well I was not able at this time to extend my reservations.
