Golden Carven Hotel — Hotel in Cairo

I was there about 4 or 5 times for a 1 night stay, but this was the last.

The beds were extremely stained. Bathroom and room needs deep cleaning and maintenance, water sometimes gets cold, kettle doesn't always work, windows don't close properly.

Amenities in the room are apparently linked to your reservation, if you book through booking.com then you get the basics like 2 water and 2 tea bags, otherwise you get nothing, even though when I booked, they gave me the same rates. The last time we only wanted 2 small waters after a long trip and they told me I need to pay extra, the guy came to the room 3 times even though we told him he can add the check to the room cause we didn't have any cash on us, however this was refused, he eventually came to the room at 12:20 midnight to tell us about the policy, noting that we had the do not disturb sign on the door as well. I returned the unused bottles.

On Mondays they have a party downstairs until 3 am, It's not managed by the hotel so you cannot do anything about it.

Some staff are friendly and some are not at all, in terms of location It's perfect but where is the quality and...

I stayed there for a total of 12 days. It was my business visit to Egypt. Receptionist and all staffs were very good in guiding Mr.Mohammed, Ms.Hayya i do remember the names. Location is absolute perfect for transit. Airport nearby 15-20 mins, Bank ABC which is very near about 100 m walk from the hotel. If you are a foreigner, you could exchange currency over there with a minimum waiting time. Also there is a Meghrany street which is 500 m walkable distance from this hotel where you could try amazing Egyptian and quality foods. There is also shops opposite to hotel where you could buy snacks, soft drinks etc. Housekeeper used to come everyday and make your rooms clean and excellent laundry service. They are providing complimentary breakfast and also there is an Indian hotel inside which is a good pick for having tasty Indian food. If on requirement to go anywhere, they will arrange cab as per your requirement with affordable pricing. Only cons is that their wifi connection is slow. Need to be improved.

Check in were smooth, afternoon stuff were friendly…. |By checking in I have informed them that I am leaving by early morning as my partner and the kids were flying, at 2:30 AM while I were escorting them to the airport I was treated by the reception as if I am escaping from the hotel !!!! (Despite the fact that I have paid for two rooms in full by the check in) so they have sent two lads to check the rooms if I have stolen the furniture or any of its appliances !!!! That was 2:30 AM while I was driving my family to the airport. |After a quick check I was let to leave the hotel to give a ride to my family to catch their flight. |So to be honest they should have a bit of training in how they deal with their guest in house … |Don’t recommend it if your flight time is tight as this might lead to more time consuming while checking out. |Check in stuff was brilliant...
