The worst hotel I have ever been to! Not safe! Very dirty! And nothing like the pictures! Do not recommend staying here!
This was a very bad experience. I cannot understand how this hotel has such good reviews, I presume they must be fake.
To begin with the rooms do not look anything like the photos, the photos are from somewhere else - only the terrace is the same. It is not easy to find the hotel, Google Maps has the wrong location. When you finally arrive, the building is in pretty terrible condition, but this is fairly expected for a Cairo hotel in this price range. What is not expected is that the rooms from the photos do not exist, instead you get what you see in the pictures I have attached. The rooms are also very dirty. Dirty beds, dirty floor, dirty walls, mouldy and dirty bathroom. It was honestly filthy. We asked to change room, and were given a room microscopically less dirty. I was traveling with a large male companion, but would have been terrified as a lone female or traveling with only girls - there were weird noises and banging from the hallway during the night. The only positive factor was that the staff were reasonably friendly.
If the low standards doesn’t bother you, you can find something much cheaper on this site, that will probably be cleaner. At this place, you are simply paying a bit extra for a place with...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin. The photos, destination and details regarding Grand Museum Guest House didn’t match up whatsoever. They were very accommodating when it came to airport shuttle pickup as we arrived at 2 am. The ride was pleasant. ||For safety reasons I put the guest house location into my maps to make sure we were heading in the right direction but when we arrived at an arbitrary location based on a dirt road, where we were met with two aggressive stray dogs barking at us, we were shocked. ||All of a sudden a young boy comes out of this dilapidated building besides us and grabs our bags, we tried to make sense of the whole situation but we followed the young boy up a small and not reassuring elevator, taking us up to the 10th floor of this somewhat abandoned building. ||There was no signage on the building which didn’t help the situation and there was no balcony as advertised. ||As for pricing it was advertised as $94 for 2 nights but once we realised the state of the accommodation we requested to leave early and had to pay $85 for one night which didn’t include a goodnight sleep as there was noises the entire night due to reception being 10 stairs below us. ||I would give the photographer 5 starts and the accommodation 1 star...
Read moreWonderful stay and there was nothing to dislike! You can clearly see the pyramids from the balcony. The air conditioning was very strong. This place is very honest (Asmaa even double checked the exchange rate with us to make sure she didn’t overcharge on anything) and was so hospitable. We were offered complimentary snacks and drinks to try and the dinner we purchased was fair priced and came with so much delicious local food!
Breakfast was also amazing and delivered right to your door. We loved staying here, it was peaceful and there was no pressure to buy anything/be upsold.
We used the free airport pickup and everything went so well. We even forgot a jacket in the car, which was returned to us (at our room) the next day. Thank you so much.
Just one tip - bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper as there may be some noise from the streets at night.
I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are visiting...
