Here are the Pros:||||1. The rooms are clean and furnished alright. The AC and TV were working just fine, although the TV channel list had no coherent order to get to the channel you want. ||||2. The Bathroom was also clean. This is a big plus in my books. ||||3. The room had no balcony but the sea was just right in front of us and that was easily the best thing about the room, you wake up and the turquoise waves are right there to greet you. It was very nice sitting there next to the window having breakfast with that view as an accompaniment.||||4. The Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Whatever question I asked or request I had they were very responsive and even when they couldn't help out much they tried to find ways to do so and/or point me in the right direction.||||5. Cleaning Service was also very nice. If you have a specific request, they'll try and do that for you even if it's out of their way.||||Here are the Cons:||||1. The room's mini-fridge was not working that well, I don't know what was wrong with it but it wasn't cooling things enough. ||||2. The Food is probably the worst thing about the hotel. Hear me out, it wasn't so bad you can't eat it, but it was less than average. And To be honest, when you're on a trip to relax and unwind you don't want your food to be less than average. My advice is if you're there for 2-3 days, have some food made in advance or eat out (not that eating out is a lot better, but it's better than the restaurant for sure).||||3. The hotel could use better airing. The Hotel's restaurant was located in the floor below ground, and whenever it was time for breakfast or lunch or dinner, the whole hotel would be filled with the smell of cooking food everywhere that it was irritating to be honest. ||||4. The towels and bed sheets were not changed through the 4 days we were there. The the beds need new duvets. The ones in use were wearing out and had lint all over them which made the very uncomfortable to sleep in. Also the Bathroom amenities could use a little upgrade, but they weren't at all terrible.||||5. The internet Wi-Fi was abysmal. It didn't work at all there and it doesn't help me much when my Phone Data signal is not that strong in the room. It worked fine once I was out of the hotel.||||6. The Hotel doesn't have it's own beach. So when we wanted to go to a beach we had to find another Hotel's beach or a public one, and you'd have to pay a fee to enter and get a table, an umbrella and some chairs readied for you. (There are some good private ones)||||My advice is to bring your own bed sheets and a light duvet (if you're going there in the summer) if you're planning to stay there. Also, for food, bring your own. The City's food (from what I have experienced and I ate in Tekka, Pizza Hut, MC Donald's there) are not that far better.||||Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. The City itself while having a breath taking view of the Sea doesn't offer much more in the entertainment and shopping section. So better also bring a book to indulge in or some board and card games to spend them time. The Room's TV was not a smart one, so don't count on streaming something through it. Offline downloads are your best friends if you want to binge watch something...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS! This has got to be the worst hotel experience I've ever had.I arrived with my family after a long journey and after they took the full payment they showed us to our rooms which to our shock were absolutely filthy and looked nothing like the photos that were advertised online! the bathrooms were all filthy and old and looked like they hadn't beeen cleaned in years, the beds were covered in dust and dirt and we found a nail in one of the rooms🤢everything was absolutely covered in finger prints and smudge marks as if it hadn't been cleaned since the last guests. One of the rooms they gave us had a broken shower door and a broken cupboard. We initially spoke to the head of housekeeping to enquire about getting the rooms cleaned or if we could be given different rooms. He was not helpful at all and just gave us an excuse that they were busy and that was why the rooms weren't clean. We told him the rooms dont look like the photos and he told us they were going to renovate next season and told us to come back next season! We then spoke to reception who showed us around some other rooms but they all looked the same and were absolutely filthy! initially the reception staff were quite helpful and said we could cancel the booking if we wanted to,so we decided to go out and look for a new place to stay as this hotel was not fit for us to sleep in.After 2 hours of searching we had managed to book another hotel and came back to cancel the booking. This is when the staff became nasty and refused to give us a full refund(keep in mind we had a large booking and paid quite alot of money as this was supposed to be a 4 star hotel) they wanted to charge us for the night even though the rooms were not what we had booked and were absolutely unlivable. After a while of back and forth with the reception they called out the manager who was so patronising and took us around to the rooms for us to show him that we hadn't used the rooms? He was rude and patronising and tried to pin the blame on us making the room dirty and thats why he wanted to charge us. I dont think i have ever met such an unprofessional team at a supposed 4 star hotel. They eventually refunded us the full amount but it doesn't end there.A few days later we came to find out that THEY TRIED TO CHARGE OUR CARD AGAIN! we had to file a feaud case with our bank to investigate the charge. I am absolutely appalled by their behaviour and lack of...
Read morestayed there 26, 27, 28, 29 October 2024 what i liked: 1- the amazing Seaview from my room's window and balcony. 2- staff were mostly friendly and helpful. 3- whenever i call the café to order a drink, it's always in my room within 10 min. 4- in all 4 days, restaurant always called me around 12 pm to confirm my choice for dinner. what i disliked: 1- LACK OF HYGIENE - starting from elevator, it was absolutely filthy, fingerprints were all over the button panel. the room was not clean as expected. don't make me start talking about the bathroom, i will let the photos speak. 2- room for 2 is relatively small. no space to walk inside except for few steps around. 3- room service is such a sad joke. room smells bad after cleaning and the bed sheets come always with visible stains. 4- the bed mattress is not comfortable AT ALL. 5- not a lot of options for dinner, only the same 4 options every day. which honestly doesn't make sense giving the high price per night in this hotel. TV remote controls are not working, sticky and not clean. i honestly was afraid to touch them. 6- not the fault of the hotel, but outside exactly in front of the hotel, they were doing some constructions on the beach, which was noisy, they worked 24 hours with heavy machinery. ruined my mood. over all, it wasn't a pleasant experience, i personally don't recommend the hotel. notes: summer season in Mersa Metrouh finishes by the end of September, after that, don't expect to find any functioning beach. they are opened though, but no services. renting an apartment is way better than booking a hotel room. i spent 13k EGP for 4 nights in the hotel, while a 2 rooms apartment at the same area with a Seaview cost less than half on this number. there is not a lot of activities to be done in the city anyway, it's the amazing crystal-clear sea, beaches (and water activities only during the season). other than that, nothing to be done. the city is...
