Our stay at the Marine Lodge Hotel was simply unforgettable. From the very first moment, we felt warmly welcomed and cared for with extraordinary attention: every detail was designed to make our experience truly special.
The staff was impeccable in every respect. A special mention goes to Tifa, whose smile and kindness made every day more enjoyable – a true professional of hospitality, always attentive and thoughtful. Alongside him, Mahmood was equally courteous and helpful. Unforgettable also the kindness of Nancy, who offered us a wonderful dinner on the beach and fulfilled every request with such care, knowing this was a special trip.
Even the staff who escorted us to our room and helped with the luggage were delightful: every morning we found the bed decorated with elegant towel art and flower petals, a delicate and refined gesture. We enjoyed pure relaxation with wonderful couple massages, a perfectly done pedicure, and even traditional Egyptian hair removal.
The diving school within the resort proved to be excellent: professional, well-organized, and attentive, they guided us with a clear and reassuring pool briefing that allowed me to approach diving with total peace of mind.
The restaurant service was another highlight: Mustafa deserves a special mention for his outstanding pizza and delicious desserts made with the same dough – true delicacies. Ahmed, the restaurant manager, also stood out for his professionalism and care, together with all the staff, always smiling and attentive.
The entire structure is flawless: a spotless pool, fast Wi-Fi everywhere, all-inclusive services with drinks included, and a relaxed atmosphere without any commercial pressure. Inside the resort, there are also some charming little shops, including a spice shop run by a South African owner – wonderful incenses and products, highly recommended.
The check-out management was exemplary: not only did they keep our luggage, but they also allowed us to use the hotel until late in the evening – shower, dinner, snacks, and drinks all day long, at no extra cost. Even when we left half an hour late, there was no problem at all – just smiles and total availability.
A special thanks also goes to Bob, responsible for transfers, who treated us with great care and kindness. Every single member of the staff, from managers to service staff, showed professionalism, warmth, and a constant smile that made our stay unique.
The location of the resort is perfect: just a few minutes from the airport (super convenient) and right in front of Port Ghalib, elegant, scenic, and atmospheric, easily reached by a small taxi boat for only two euros – especially beautiful at night when all lit up. Less than two kilometers away is Marsa Mubarak, the bay of turtles and dugongs, easily accessible also through the diving center. About 20–30 minutes away is Abu Dabbab, another stunning bay, while in just over an hour you can reach Sharm El Luli, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Red Sea – and even in the world.
The hotel’s beach is very beautiful and well equipped. Walking a little further, in a wilder area with an abandoned boat, you can admire corals and countless colorful fish – like a natural aquarium.
The hotel director himself personally came to greet us at departure, and during our stay, he often asked if everything was to our satisfaction. A gesture that perfectly sums up the philosophy of this hotel: placing the guest at the very center.
The Marine Lodge Hotel was not just a place to stay, but a true experience of authentic hospitality. In just a few days, I built a wonderful human connection with the staff that I will carry in my heart.
I am certain that I will return to Egypt, and I will definitely stay here again – or at least stop by to greet these extraordinary people. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay, with top-notch services and hospitality that goes far beyond...

Read moreMy husband and I have been traveling for decades. We have visited many countries, but Egypt, and Marsa Alam in particular, always remains a desirable destination for our annual trip. Why? Because it offers excellent and relatively inexpensive diving, and every year we buy a tour to Marsa Alam to dive with our favorite "SeaWorld" Diving Center. Over the 15 years of our addiction to diving, we have stayed in various '4' and '5' star hotels. This year, we have chosen Marina Lodge in Port Ghalib. We were won over by the price, proximity to our favourite diving center, and also good reviews from visitors. Well, going forward, "Marina Lodge" met and even exceeded our expectations: excellent location, compact multi-level buildings, cozy, very green grounds, large rooms. Smiling and friendly staff, and the food quality is very good indeed. Fun fact: it's rare to find in Egypt, but the baseboards on the floor in the toilet and shower are nicely sealed with silicone :) The old TVs in the rooms have recently been replaced with new LED Samsung ones. The Wi-Fi is fast enough and available everywhere, and definitely sufficient for communication, YouTube and social networking. We had two small technical problems: connecting our laptop and smartphones to the TV and also got a small issue with the glass door in the shower. The manager in reception has logged our requests, and said he would send us the IT specialist to resolve the TV connection issue, and a technician to fix the door. Knowing the standard Egyptian approach: “Ok, will be done soon, Inshallah”, we thought we would have to wait for the specialists the day after tomorrow, maybe a couple of days. But as soon as we got to our room (took 3-5 minutes), a smiling and quite advanced IT-guy knocked at our door, and helped us and quickly set up everything we needed! Then (almost simultaneously) the repair crew lso arrived, with a drill and the other tools! They reinforced the door, and then nicely cleaned up the work area after the door was fixed - all took less than 20 mins!
Now about the food. The chef, Mr. Adham Mohamed, does magic in the kitchen, and surprises us every day with delicious and varied dishes. During the first several days, we tasted Arabic, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. I must say, all the dishes are prepared with soul and ingenuity. The choice was quite sufficient, and everything is indeed very tasty - definitely not ''fake variety', when you have countless salads to choose from, but can eat just 2-3 tasty ones, or all desserts taste almost the same, just the shapes and colors are different. There are always several kinds of meat/grilled chicken and fish. Quite often, there is beef "kofta" kebab, or special Egyptian pastry - ''Feteer' (can be with meat, cheese/vegetables, or sweet filling), unforgettable and very tasty, prepared with smile and love by sunny Mr. Mustafa;) For seafood dinner - we had smoked mackerel, shrimp paella and fried fish of many kinds, and it all was so delicious! And what amazing sweet pastries! The selection of cakes/desserts is always excellent. It's simply impossible to resist and not be tempted by another little cake :) The staff is very helpful, but unobtrusive, and eager to help and make our stay at the hotel as comfortable as possible. Excellent hotel, positive staff, amazingly delicious cuisine! Thank you very much, Marina Lodge! Thanks to all of you, our vacation was awesome. We will definitely visit "Marina Lodge"...
