I don't know where to even start with this hotel. If I can rate it a negative star I would. This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my years of travelling to different countries. The rip off on the tours made it worse. I would recommend the Keylany Hotel instead. I've stayed at an airbnb in Cairo, been to Alexandria and now Aswan so I have an idea of the prices. I would pay a little more to NOT stay at this hotel. Unfortunately we paid for 2 nights. After that we did move to the Keylany. ||||1. After an approximate 20 hr train ride from Alexandria to Aswan, we arrived at this hotel. We were in front of the hotel looking at it because it didn't seem like it was finished when the manager (he said he's the marketing manager) steps outside and greets us. He starts talking about the tours they provide before we even get to the room. Really?? We told him we were tired and wanted to think about it. Finally, he takes us to our room (room #204) and asks us to go back to the lobby after a few hours so he can further explain the tours. ||||2. The room has 2 twin beds, dresser, mini fridge and a mini balcony. From the balcony you can see nothing but TRASH. The first floor balconies were full of trash. Probably why he didn't give us those rooms. He offered the rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor. ||||3. The pillows are hard as a rock and both beds were so used it has a dent near the middle where it badly sags. That's how old it is. It's so bad that the mattress doesn't rebound, the dent is just there so you sink into it. ||||4. The mini fridge is DIRTY but it does work and the drinks stay cold. ||||5. Inside the dresser are comforters that are dirty, dusty and looks like someone just threw them in there. They weren't folded in any way. ||||6. The lamps on top of the bed didn't work at all. We didn't plug the TV in to see if it worked. ||||7. The rooms DID NOT have towels, toilet paper or any toiletries. Not even soap. We had to ask for towels and TP. ||||8. I woke up at around 2 or 3:30 because of LOUD MUSIC. There apparently is an establishment (not sure if this is a bar or what but I didn't go inside it) beside the hotel or under it. THE NOISE IS SO LOUD I CAN HEAR IT EVEN WITH EARPLUGS ON. During the day, you can hear the construction going on because they are building another floor. ||||9. The water does work. ||||10. I doubt the air conditioner works although we didn't use it. Just look at the picture I posted. It doesn't have a cover and the filter has nothing but dust.||||11. I guess they are trying to save on electricity because they don't turn the lights on in the lobby during the day. ||||12. We ordered 2 teas. One day we were charged 6 EGP and the following day 5 EGP. ||||13. The elevator does not work. It's full of trash and you can see it as you walk up to your room. ||||14. The WIFI only works in the lobby. ||||15. People smoke inside this hotel. In the hallways. ||||16. They have a "coffee shop". I wouldn't call it that. Looks like a kitchen with a counter so they can make you coffee or tea. ||||THERE ARE 3 TOURS: ( I don't know why they call this a tour when they don't do anything but provide the transportation)||||#1 Philae Temple, the Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk (150 EGP for 2 people)||||#2 Abu Simbel with a pickup time of 3:30 am to 3:45 am. This is an approximate 3 hr ride one way. Total 6 hrs roundtrip. They bring you back to the hotel at 1pm. (150 EGP for 1 person)||||#3 Two day Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. ($60 USD for 2 nights/1 person)||||We ended up taking the Philae Temple "tour" by itself. No Dam or Obelisk included. The "manager" charged us 100 EGP for 2 people. This is what he did. He dropped us off at the ticket booth at the Philae Temple. After 2 hrs, he picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. You can pay a taxi 20 EGP (roundtrip) to do the same thing. The temple is a 20 min car ride. I wish they had UBER in Aswan. WHAT A RIP OFF! I'll review the Philae Temple separately. ||||The 2nd "tour" we took was to Abu Simbel. A van picked us up at 3:30 am. There were 5 people in the van and we picked up 2 more along the way plus the driver and his assistant. A chilean traveler that stayed in this same hotel told us he was charged 120 EGP for the tour. We arrived at Abu Simbel around 7:18 am with NO STOPS except at the checkpoints. The "assistant" told us to meet him back at the parking lot at 9 am. We had less than 1 1/2 hrs to check out the temple. I asked him where the entrance to the temple was. He did not answer nor give us any assistance. ||||On the way back (with no stops), near our hotel, the driver said "WELCOME TO ASWAN" and passed an envelope for tips. This was the only time I heard him talk. WOW! Tips for what?? For doing your job and driving us there? The van had a ||"MARWAN TRAVEL" sign on it. ||||At least the manager gave us a few hotdog buns and cheese for breakfast because we asked him since the "tour" was at 3:30 am. ||||Oh, in regards to the cruise, the "manager" said the cruise only has suites left so the rate is $60 for 1 night per person now. He originally said he quoted us an inside cabin rate. I asked him the name of the cruise ship and he said he didn't know. I would suggest if you take a cruise, ask for the name of the ship and read the...
TÓMENLO COMO UN HOTEL NADA MÁS, HAGAN SUS TOURS POR OTRO LADO y NO ACEPTEN...
Read moreWe stay here for 1 night coz we arrived at night and tired in aswan. The room is not that clean, the shower head is not working, we have to wash our hair on tub faucet. But they have hot water. The bed is comfortable enough. The internet is not free. They just give us one towel. When we asked for extra they say not included. I mean we booked double twin bed room. It should be included. Cats live in the hotel. I love cats. But the literally on our floor, roaming around. It's just the hygiene of a hotel should be priority. Its sad because this hotel have a potential to be really nice if the management put some extra money and effort to renovate and fix stuff around here. Reception staffs is nice. We left our luggage early morning and it was okay. For 1 night is okay and its near...
