Aswan Old Souks — Local services in Saleh Gahin

A magical walk through history and culture I visited the Aswan Old Souks during my trip last winter, and it was truly one of the highlights of my stay. The atmosphere is full of life — colorful stalls, friendly vendors, and the smell of spices, incense, and freshly ground hibiscus everywhere.

I enjoyed walking through the narrow alleys, browsing a wide variety of local products, from handmade crafts and traditional scarves to spices, perfumes, and natural herbs. The people were welcoming and not too pushy, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I even picked up a few unique souvenirs and had lovely conversations with local shop owners who shared stories about the products and their origins.

This is one of most beautiful and largest market in our earth. It is quite long and broad and it has unlimited numbers of streets and alleys and they are full of stores and shops trading pretty much everything you want and you can imagine. The atmosphere is great and lively and even the walk without shopping is a pleasure in its own. The only annoying thing is people and shops owners chase you to buy and in a very annoying behavior ...they don't understand that too much of this will annoy people and they won't buy from you even if they want to buy, plus they offer very very prices in a very poor old fashion way which make you rather unwilling to even explore the items they offering..although many of them are of good quality but the so inflated prices are enough to put you off, if you decided to those shops who offer there stuff with tag price and if there's no price tag then negotiate 50% at least using your six sense and never accept less than...

Amazing souq with A to Z items and the best place to buy things if as a tourist your journey ends here. It's a long alley atleast 750 metres and have inner distributing alleyways. It's Much better than Khan Al khalili market in Cairo where it's expensive for most shops. You get all the stuff here ranging from Spices , Clothing, apparel, Footwear , Bags, Aromatic incense , Souvenirs,Traditional Egyptian items , Glass art , Cartouches with writings( at 250LE ), Ramadan lightings, Electronic stores ( in adjacent street) , Juice shops ( sugarcane is very popular and zoobian juice made from coconut is unique to Aswan ) , Groceries, Handwork stuff , Crockeries,pottery , Silver and Gold plated things, Sweets , confectionaries, Fruits etc.

Tourists Have to bargain to very much lesser prices probably half for expensive stuff . It's crowded in the weekends and even other days during night time .It is vibrant and much utilitarian place to buy...
