Parrotel Beach Resort â a huge disappointment and waste of money||My stay at this hotel was a major letdown. The property is currently under renovation â which is understandable if they aim to improve standards â but everything felt neglected and poorly managed.||The restaurant was by far the biggest issue. Dirty, stained tablecloths, chairs and sofas with leftover food crumbs. Glasses, mugs and plates were constantly missing â and when available, many were poorly cleaned. Long waits just to have your table cleared and reset. No napkins, and cutlery often dirty. Only one staff member serving drinks for a crowd â totally overwhelmed. The coffee machine was old and falling apart, and the hot water for tea was often undercooked or unavailable.||Food was repetitive and often felt reheated. Same dishes day after day, just rearranged. The only positive were the soups and fresh salads â they were decent and safe.||The snack bar by the pool was a joke. Only a few slices of pizza and fries, constantly running out, and everything felt unhygienic.||Pool and beach bar â a disaster for drinks.|Beer and soft drinks were served in tiny plastic cups â barely a few sips. When they had bigger ones, they were rinsed carelessly with water and reused, raising serious hygiene concerns.|To make matters worse, the bars themselves looked dirty and unappealing, especially the one at the beach â it honestly made you lose appetite.|Bringing your own cup is the best and safest option.||Poolside music â unbearable.|Way too loud, blasted through crackling old speakers. Staff kept interrupting songs mid-track to play their own random mix. No consistency, no chill â just noise, chaos and headache. Many people simply left the pool area.||Public toilets were disgusting. Dirty, smelly, constantly out of toilet paper. Hygiene standards were nonexistent.||Rooms were spacious but very worn out. Furniture and equipment were clearly aged. The beds were actually quite comfortable, so at least sleeping was okay.|Room key cards demagnetized constantly, and I had to walk to reception every time to get it fixed. Only after multiple complaints did they give out two cards per person, which shouldâve been the standard from the start.|Wi-Fi was spotty â worked okay in the room, but nearly useless around the pool, probably due to overcrowding and poor bandwidth.||I accidentally broke the glass panel on a terrace table (which was extremely unstable). I reported it right away â the staff acknowledged it, but the table was never fixed during my stay. Despite that, I still received a bill for the damage. Very unprofessional.||Toilet paper in the room? Treated like gold. I had to ask for it multiple times â it was never refilled without a reminder.||Housekeeping staff tried their best, but it was obvious they were hoping for tips. Constant âtip meâ looks every day became exhausting.|And it wasnât just them â basically all hotel staff were clearly expecting tips, from cleaners to bartenders. I understand the reality of working in tourism, but the pressure was too much.||The hotel is heavily geared towards Russian-speaking guests. From the moment you arrive, staff automatically speak to you in Russian, assuming youâre from there. Very awkward and uncomfortable for non-Russian guests.||Evening entertainment â cringe-worthy. Amateurish, low-energy, no structure. Honestly felt like shows aimed at an audience with special needs. Definitely not what youâd expect from a 5-star resort.||Hotel taxis â ridiculously overpriced. Hotel transportation was up to 200% more expensive than local options. Youâre much better off booking your own ride â cheaper and just as reliable.||On the bright side: the garden was beautiful, the pool was clean, the weather was great, and the beds were comfortable â but all of that was thanks to Egypt, not the hotel itself.||⸝||This hotel does not meet any 5-star standard. Dirt, poor organization, pushy staff, low-quality service, and overall chaos.|I would not recommend it â even if it seems like a good deal. Itâs not worth it.|If youâre on a budget, youâre better off choosing a 3-star hotel â at least youâll know what to expect, and youâll likely get better...
Read moreJust returned from an absolutely amazing family holiday to Sharm staying at the Parrotel Beach Resort. We went away with my son and daughter and their partners, so 6 in total.|When we arrived at the hotel my wife noticed she found the grounds familiar and on later investigation, we discovered the hotel used to be Radisson SAS. This was where we spent our honeymoon 20 years earlier on our first visit to Sharm, an unexpected surpriseâŚ|The entrance to the hotel has been totally modernised and revamped and offers cool, sophisticated areas to enjoy a drink or relax and we arrived very late in the evening, but were told to leave our bags and go straight to the restaurant for food. Being almost midnight we were glad for a sit down and something to eat.|We were taken to our rooms via a little golf cart and settled in.|From waking the next morning its easy to see how beautiful the grounds are, the pool area is immaculate, the beach front is stunning and on our short walk up to the restaurant we were pleased with out choice of hotel.|Every single staff member we had the pleasure to meet was nothing short of humble, friendly, helpful, funny and more than willing to speak and make you feel welcome. Try saying good morning instead of just ignoring grounds workers or waiters, you may get a pleasant surprise.|Food was always good in the restaurant, always something to choose from and my party contained some picky eaters. The early morning eggs and waffle station was excellent, a great mix of breads, meats, cheese, yoghurts and fruits, salads etc. Top tip, try the falafel, unreal. Every sitting was great and they do themed nights and BBQ grills outdoors most nights. The staff in the restaurant were always amazing. The restaurant manager every sitting would see us coming in and run to greet us, take us to a table and bring drinks straight away, but only after high fives and handshakes. The lads clearing and serving have great banter and really feed off interaction to bring fun to mealtimes.|Pool area was always immaculate and plenty going on if you wanted to join in. Otherwise you could just lounge your days away. We sat at the furthest point away from the bar, but with a small tip now and again we were well catered for by waiters throughout the day bringing drinks and a laugh.|The onsite spa is gorgeous and well worth a visit, we booked a 2 day session as an anniversary present to ourselves and we were pampered beyond belief. Itâs not uber cheap but is worth a little haggle and visit. The staff again, make you feel very special.|Beach area is super clean and tidy, well served by a bar just off it and snacks available all day. Sea does have a rocky bed, so some form of shoe or flip flop advised, although you are able to access with bare feet with a little care and attention. Loads of fish everywhere, especially if you pinch a bread roll from the buffetâŚ|A visit to Mr Arsenal at the onsite Shisha lounge is well worth it. The guy is so funny and we had great banter all holiday. Every time we crossed oaths we ended u chatting and leaving with big smiles on our faces.|On our last day we were meant to be out of rooms for 10am, however the hotel extended this till noon. We were given a room in reception to stow away bags and belongings until our ice up and 8.50 that evening. There was a member of staff in the room at all times and we had access all day to change or get belongings etc. One thing to note, we have previously been cut off from our all inclusive access once check out times arrive (noon in this case), however here we had full access all day, food, drinks etc all still available. A nice touch as we didnât expect this at all.|When we came to leave it was a sad affair, everyone asked us to go say goodbye to them before we left and we felt like we had made some great new friends on our time here.|There was one massive fault to this holiday thoughâŚwe only booked 7 days. No where near long enough to enjoy the hotel or all the wonders Egypt has to offer.||A massive thank you to Mr Sayed and every single member of staff at the Parrotel Beach resort, you will not be forgotten and we hope to see you again...
Read moreThe grounds were beautifully maintained and the resort was clean. The flowers were neat and pretty, the bridges over various water features were quaint, the beach with a fantastic view had many loungers and parasols, and the pool was clean and pleasant. Unfortunately the pool closes very early (5pm!).
We did not use the clay tennis court in the end as it was too hot. Rackets and balls can be rented by the poolside. The spa facilities were good, however, the labelled female changing room was in fact for everyone which gave both me and a group of men a very big shock when I walked in assuming it was for women! During my treatments, there was one worker who kept shouting down the corridor which was distracting.
There was an "animation team" who effectively organise all the activities in the resort. They are there throughout the day offering activities such as stretching, Zumba, beach volley etc. And at the evening they organise shows 9:30pm every day. The shows consist of dancers (belly dance, tanoura, south American, African), animal shows (which made us very uncomfortable as animal welfare was not considered here: defanged cobras, monkey on a leash). After the shows, the animation team take those who want to go, out for drinks and dancing outside the resort. The resort itself does not have a nightlife beyond the evening shows which means it's quiet by 11:30pm.
Unfortunately all the daytime activities organised by the animation team are not listed anywhere and seem to happen ad hoc which does not work for people who like to plan. We would be relaxing by the beach and someone would come round and shout "stretching in 5 minutes" and that would be how you would know it was happening. I did not love the system which meant I did not participate much. If there had been a timetable, I would have been able to plan my day around the activities. I also did not enjoy them guilting you into joining in on the spot. A few would ask "why don't you take part in anything?" Probably a language barrier thing but it still felt a bit uncomfortable. The way they would advertise was by standing around places such as outside dinner and saying "animation show 9:30 tonight are you coming?!?" It was all quite full on and they were not chill in their approach as they had no other form of advertisement!
If you have a problem, do not go to reception. We had a persistent issue with the cistern of our toilet and we went to tell them. They literally turned us away and said "call the reception from your room." This happened so many times with various queries! We would call and sometimes no one would pick up. Or they would say they were sending someone and no one would come unless you prompted them with a secondary call. We would ask about the animation stuff/spa and they said "you have to talk to them." Basically there was zero communication between the different staff members of the resort which was rather annoying as there was no centralised information system.
The room itself was ok. We were given an upgrade upon arrival so we had a balcony which we mainly used for drying swimwear. The room was fairly clean, however, the bathroom had a persistent smell of sewage and as I mentioned earlier, the toilet cistern was broken.
The food in the resort was as expected from an all-inclusive. We settled into a rhythm of using the omelette station for breakfast and the pasta station for lunch. Dinner would be whatever was on. It got quite samey towards the middle of our stay. However, once Eid hit, there were outdoor BBQs for the last three evenings of our stay and that was nice! The included drinks at the resort are basically just grenadine which got quite sickly. The snacks available by the beach were mainly chips. Unfortunately the bar by the beach closed at 5pm every day.
If you stay for a week or more, you can go to the a la carte restaurant once during your stay. We went to Trade Winds and the staff were rude (basically chasing you out) and the food was basically the same as the buffet food.
All in all, facilities great, room...
