Me and my partner have just arrived home after staying at cleopatra for ten nights in mid October. On arrival (late evening) we didn’t feel overly welcomed by a male member of staff at reception there was no how was your journey etc just name and passports.. however we did notice whilst waiting around in the lobby on our departure day (midday/afternoon) other guest’s getting welcome drinks and great service.. so maybe it was just different staff working different arrival times! However on arrival we were then told we have a larger upgraded room for just one night and to come back to reception the next day around 1/2pm so we can take you to your permanent room, shocked as to why we had to do this I asked why and got told that the hotel is at full capacity! We booked this holiday 7/8 months previous! Although this wasn’t the end of the world but it did make us feel like our first day was wasted waiting around not being able to unpack etc.. also with one of us being a cpap user for sleep apnea setting up the machine etc takes time and it can be very difficult to settle especially after a long journey! However we went back the next day and definitely felt more welcome the ladies on the front desk were very helpful and told us the room shouldn’t be long we will call your room and send someone to help with luggage etc.. about half an hour after we received said call and were taken to our permanent room where we could finally settle down! Not a great start but things definitely got better.||So i thought ild break it down to different parts of the hotel we used during our stay:||Family pool area ||We found this area very relaxing for swimming/ sunbathing etc.. each day we went there Eslam the lifeguard helped us with our towels and moving umbrellas to keep us shaded etc.. a real nice guy! A massive shoutout for Ahmed who works the bar down there and also worked in the pub most evenings he was always happy to see us and nothing was too much for him! ||Philli philli pub||We love the ambience in the pub there’s air hockey a pool table a disco lower down later at night we were always welcomed by all the staff but an extra special welcome from both Ahmed and Mohammed both great guys always made time to ask how we are what our plans are etc.. ||Lobby bar||We didn’t spend too much time here however whenever we did all staff were very friendly and on our last day waiting for our transport to the airport Mahmoud made sure we were well looked after. ||Beach bar grill ||Personally our favourite place to eat and drink! However The first day we went down there we didn’t know what the procedure was to get food & drinks etc no one really bothered to come and see us not a great start however we went back down the next day and our whole experience changed! We sat down and within minutes we had a guy called Ahmed take our drinks order we returned most days because of this man’s service he was amazing! Nothing was too much for him he would recommend drinks see you were low and top you up he would make sure you were one of the first to be able to order food just a really really great guy! Unfortunately he had to leave a day before our last day to go home but on his last day at work he asked if we could be friends on social media and I will definitely keep in touch with him! I would also like to add how hard the lady down there works (i think she’s the restaurant manager)she’s very professional and observant. ||Main restaurant||So this restaurant is themed every night and you can find what theam outside the restaurant daily however we personally didn’t think much of the food here we are both fussy (don’t eat fish one of us doesn’t eat meat) we found a lot of the dishes contained fish and the other dishes we did/ would eat were lacking flavour we were very disappointed most evenings however we did enjoy french night the onion soup was amazing and the beef wellington was very nice! There is a pasta station every evening and found ourselves eating that mostly! ||Cleaners ||The whole hotel is spotless they all work so hard 24 hours the public loos are well maintained the windows doors everything is just crystal clean! ||Gardeners ||The gardens are seriously amazing! So well looked after and maintained all the gardeners I said hello to were super nice and they work so hard all day these guys are a massive part of this hotel and I think they appreciate being acknowledged even if it’s a little hello or wave. ||Spa ||So I decided to book in a Turkish hammam on one of our last days my partner wasn’t interested but I had never been to a spa before and decided to treat myself! The service and professionalism at this place was truly outstanding! Unfortunately I forgot the name of the guy but he was amazing a proper great experience and I would recommend to anyone needing that little extra bit of luxury and relaxation to go there! I think I paid £90 this included a 40 minute massage use of all the spa facilities a Turkish foam massage!||Rooms: ||Our room for the first night (1029) was huge like stupidly big it was wasted on us to be honest! But our main room (1023) was super comfortable and had great views over the hotels pools and grounds. Ild say the only thing that did let it down but wasn’t too much of an issue was it did over look the stage for the night entertainment which stopped every night at 11pm it was very loud inside the room even with door shut. Our cleaner Nasr el din was a really nice guy and kept our room clean and tidy!||Apart from the bad start with rooms the rest of our holiday was amazing! please make sure you tip the staff they really do appreciate it! They work so hard and you honestly don’t even need to move a muscle. We would probably return but not...
Read moreWe stayed in Cleopatra Adults Only Resort in August 2024 for 7 nights. Our stay was perfect.
We booked our hotel through LoveHolidays as an all inclusive package. When we arrived, we were told that our booking had gone to the family resort rather than the adults only, but the team were very kind in finding us a room in the adults only hotel.
The hotel itself is large and beautiful, with two bars right by the pool. The pool has beds, sun beds, and seating areas in the pool. There is food available for most hours of the day, save for an hour or two before dinner.
The food in the restaurant is buffet style, with wonderful options. The sauces and meats are always on point, and there is a fairly large variety of options. I recommend always walking around the area before you pick anything! The chefs and staff are always very happy to help explain what is in the foods, and also will provide recommendations if you wish!
There is also an Asian al la carte restaurant available to book as part of your all inclusive package, and other restaurants across the road that you can book if you wish to have a fine dining experience. For the Asian restaurant, I highly recommend the beef tenderloin as a main - the sauce was spectacular. The service is also exceptional.
The weather was very hot, but everywhere inside is very well air conditioned, and there are umbrellas all around the pool. There is also a wave pool which comes on a few times in the day, and also pools for playing sports.
The staff are exceptionally kind, and will always greet you with a smile and are very happy to have a chat with you. They will go out of their way to ensure you have the holiday of your dreams. I highly recommend bringing some cash for tips, as well as for your excursions and spa experiences. These are incredible, and very reasonable prices. We did the safari experience, the white islands, happy hour, parasailing and facial/pedicure at omega spa. The teams for this are very sweet, patient and will do their very best to ensure you are comfortable during your stay.
For the safari experience, we went quad biking through the desert at sunset, and then rode a camel, and had dinner at a camp in the desert. We skipped the show to go stargazing at night, which was perfect for us! It was one of our best nights there! At the happy hour, we were able to go to Sharks Bay, and went riding on a boat, tuba, banana boat and sofa at sea. We did parasailing at the same time, and had incredible fun. Photos cost extra, but again for what you get (over 20 photos at least), the price is very reasonable. Most places and people take card, but if you go on the safari, please do bring some cash with you as the bedouin camp do not have card, and you will want to tip them!
I also had a facial and pedicure at omega spa, which was very nice. The facial was a little painful with the blackhead removal, but very effective. It was very relaxing and the staff in the spa are very kind. My nail polish chipped in the pool though - so I’d recommend getting this booked for a nice pedi when you get back from your trip! We also decided to visit the beach on the family resort - there’s a pier you can jump from! The beach is sandy, with a few stones closer to the sea, so I’d recommend going to the pier for a swim (there’s a ladder too! And lifeguards).
We also decided to visit the shops in the resort, which was nice. The staff here are all incredibly sweet. You can find plenty of bags, shoes, watches and jewellery from Egyptian King (and also have a laugh as you shop), or get a papyrus print or souvenirs from Amoun Bazaar (here id recommend sitting and having a hibiscus tea before buying! It’s very yummy). Or, you can visit the Horus shop, which had plenty of hair and skin oils, herbs, and general holistic remedies for all kinds of conditions! If you get sunburn or damaged skin and hair - this is your holy grail on holiday.
Overall our holiday was superb, but the people made it perfect. We had a wonderful time!...
Read moreI’ll start off with the first day of our 5 night holiday where we instantly seen a red flag. The first night we was in there was a gentleman who came on holiday with his girlfriend I believe and he came running into reception shouting at the receptionist. The reason for him shouting was due to him believing 5 staff members were in his room alone with his girlfriend. His girlfriend was screaming and shouting due to this bearing in mind his poor girlfriend had crutches as she had a broken leg. This was the first red flag but I thought we would be fine as we had 22 people altogether that attended this hotel. The main issues across 5 rooms that we had altogether were no hot water - it had taken them two days to fix this issue. On the 4th day, all 5 of our rooms had no access to water. What I mean by that is I had put all taps on one by one as well as altogether. I was trial and erroring them. This was late at night about 2am and when I asked them to fix it, the excuses were the maintenance man was not available which is what he told me or he will take an hour to come which is what receptionist told my brother with his room. There was also No light in the bed room at one point. We were given alcohol on many occasions even though waiters on bar staff were given clear instructions not to put alcohol in drinks as we told them every single time before ordering. This was one of the worst ones due to it being against our religion. Staff clearly knew we were Muslim as we would say hello in their native tongue and speak about our religion. We had occasions where we would be at our room door trying to open up our room with the keycard. They did not work and we had to walk back to reception so that they can re register it which then allowed us to enter our room. We did this on multiple occasions, 3 times a day across 5 days. This was very frustrating. In addition to this my cousin was locked out of his room even though they re registered the card. He was told to go back and forth from his room and reception a couple of times at 3:30am. Maintenance were outside his room for 4 hours trying to fix the issue which caused him and 3 other people that stayed in the villa not able to sleep in their bedroom that they paid for. Even after the maintenance believing they had fixed it they still did not as my cousin had to go back to speak to maintenance again, as you can imagine my cousin was extremely frustrated about this as it was the early hours of the morning with no sleep through out the day. He would have been awake for almost 24 hours as we woke up everyday around 8am to get the most out of our days. The staff were rude due to this and advised just to be patient not offering my cousin a room for the night so that he can sleep whilst they fix the issue. Overall worst hotel to be at. I had logged a complaint with all of this with a manager which he said he will investigate and get back to me. I did let him know I have 2 days remaining in which he said he will get back to me by the following night. As you can imagine I spoke to him and he said he still not come up with a resolution. Heaters was an issue also, in my brothers room it was really warm his heating managed to work, when I asked maintenance to check mine he advised we do not have heating and it only blows out A/C. When I showed him my brothers room which was next door he just said he will give me a small heater which was terrible and did absolutely nothing as it was a Villa and a huge space. The food was disgusting, to be fair there was a lot of variety but just wasn’t nice at all. Throughout the 5 days all I ate was chips with ketchup, not exaggerating at all. One of my family members room was being fixed by maintenance and they broke the hairdryer and tried to blame my family member. They investigated that and advised we was right and they did not break the hairdryer. So to top off the staff being rude the facilities absolutely rubbish etc they accused a family member that something broke which...
