This was our first time at any of the Sunrise properties. We were warmly greeted by Younis at reception who took care of my family immediately. We were welcomed with drinks and provided with our rooms swiftly at the early hours of the morning arrival. The rooms are large and configurations are either two small doubles with a pull out sofa bed or a king size with a pull out sofa bed. We had 3 in each room including children. The sofa beds weren't particularly comfortable as they kept misaligning so the housekeeping team brought in a single bed for my daughter instead which resolved the problem. The bathroom is spacious with a huge walk in shower. There is also a small balcony.
There are five restaurants here. Gamila was closed for the majority of the time we were here as there were some technical issues which we were informed about prior to our travels. The Jewels restaurant stays open until 1 am and is an international buffet restaurant that serves a wide range of foods. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served here with live entertainment every day at breakfast and dinner time in the terrace. This restaurant gets very busy but the staff manage the tourist load so well. My only comment about this restaurant is that spoons are really hard to find at the tables and wish that this would be easy to solve. Gamila restaurant opened on 19th August and we booked it for dinner. The air-conditioning wasn't working but the food was great. It also serves breakfast and snacks. We also ate at the Mongolian and Italian and both were great a la carte experiences. At Jewels restaurant, Magdy's hospitality cannot be put into words. He ensured that he resolved my problem and took the best care in ensuring that there are diet drinks available at the restaurant and my room for my medical needs even when there was a country wide shortage. He took care of it made it happen! Mahdy, Islam and Amr at the Splash pool bar were simply the best. They brought the greatest service with lots of fun and banter. Islam's attention and service was impeccable. Mahdy took the greatest care of my family and catered for all of our needs. When my mother and I were poorly, he created a special, organic medicinal drinks that really helped us with sickness and upset stomachs. He is our blessed "Medicine Man." It worked wonders and he was very kind in his continued wonderful service and attention. His iced coffee is also the best at this bar! Hossam at the Aqua Park was the best at iced coffees. DJ Mahmoud, Yankee and Summer brought the best vibes. They were very friendly and made time to talk to the guests and inform them of the entertainment programme. The service here is amazing! It really helped ensure that our holiday is amazing! This is all due thw hard work and the greatest care taken of the guests staying. Nothing ever appeared to be an issue (even when it was) everything was put into place to ensure a resolution is reached. This is why I would definitely recommend this hotel highly to everyone. I would definitely return to rhe Sunrise properties again as our experience here is magical. I based my decision to stay at Sunrise Diamond Beach because of the facilities it offers for the children especially the Aqua park. I must admit that I am very glad that I chose this hotel because it truly did not disappoint in any way. This hotel beats any other hotel chains I've travelled to and stayed in the 47 countries I've visited. It felt like a home away from home. They have a great team of people who felt like an extended family by the end of our 12 days. Smiles all day and nothing was ever a problem. Anything we needed was available should we ask for it. Their hospitality and care made us feel treasured and we are really sad to be leaving. Well done Sunrise for creating such a magical and wonderful guest experience. The location is great to the Old Souk (Approx 10 mins drive) and Naama Bay (15 mins drive roughly). It has its own private beach which you can snorkle of. The dive center can provide life vests etc at an extra charge and you can snorkle...
Read moreBeautiful Resort With a few cons and pros. I just spent 6 days at this beautiful resort and I will share in details what you should expect or do not expect out of it. Location: Beautiful location 25 min away from the airport, the resort is equipped with one huge pool and infinity pool, an adult only pool, a family pool and a splash pool for kids only that works on a certain time during the day. Rooms: Extremely clean and spacious with full amenities. Food: One buffet, 4 a la carte restaurant (Italian, Indian, Mongolian, Egyptian) plus one Seafood (Chargeable not free). we were two persons and we wanted a sea view room but our travel agent said they have only pool view family room which we did not need actually but we accepted to get the view, upon our arrival, we were directed to our room in building 3 and to our surprise our room was facing a tennis and a football playground!! when we contested, they tried to convince us that this is a pool view room!! we asked to change it for the amount we paid for and finally they changed it for us to building #2 which overlooked the family pool with no view but surrounding buildings!! Kids were noisy as of 9am and loud music was playing, the room was nice but the location was disappointing for a couple who wanted some peace and quiet. We tried several time to ask them to change it to a real pool view room with a view of the sea even if it meant downgrading our room, they said no because the hotel was full. So be careful, if you want to book a good room and not be scammed make sure you are getting one in Building 9 or 14 which are facing the main big pool and the sea. As for service, everyone tried their best to make our journey joyful, Employees had a lack of knowledge in some hotel information but tried their best to help. Food: The buffet had a lot of varieties and beautiful presentation thanks to head Chef Mr. Arabi, but lacked of taste in most of the items, and mostly items at Breakfast were transferred to Lunch and later to Dinner. Fish fried or Barbecued were present most of the time, but Shrimps and crabs were only seen on Seafood day. The A la carte 5 restaurants are almost impossible to reserve, but I had the chance to eat at the Italian, which was a bit more acceptable. The Egyptian restaurant is the best with reservation, and a big thank you to Mr. Mohamed the manager and his team who took care of us on our anniversary night. Entertainment was mediocre comparing to other resorts I visited world wide, with some fun for the kids show. No Egyptian music or shows were available and I felt as if I was in Moscow! Not that I have anything against Russians, they are very nice people, contrary to other non European nationalities who made some of my days feel like shit due to their lack of respect and noise. I witnessed an incident at the pool where a group of young men constantly insulting and threatening the life guard because he simply asked them not to jump in the pool, and when i spoke to the pool manager about it, he answered me that he cannot do anything about it and they are also guests even if they act nasty!!! Overall Experience: 3 stars for this hotel, based on my personal experience and based on my travel world wide to Resorts that really were up to the expectations. Please note that when visiting any hotel in Egypt, Be generous with your tip, these are people that works 12 hours a day, and paid little, your tip will make a big difference and will keep a smile on their face, a BIG huge thank you to Waleed who took care of our room and well Being. a tip generally is 1$ to 5$ or the equivalent in Egyptian money (100-250). Please also note that if you need Egyptian money on your Journey, make sure that you do it at the airport, because the ATM machine at the hotel only exchanged small bills of 5-10$ and if you go to Exchange stores outside the hotel you will end up waiting at least for an hour to exchange money!!! For outside Entertainment, Visit SOHO or Naama Bay or the old Souk, a taxi from the hotel usually costs 25$ for a round trip,...
Read moreWe were a group of 18 people, and our stay at Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort Sharm El Sheikh exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the reception team who were professional, courteous, and always smiling. Check-in was quick and smooth, and all our requests were handled with care and attention. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and well-furnished with comfortable beds, elegant decor, excellent air conditioning, and all amenities provided including a stocked mini-bar and personal care items. The buffet experience was absolutely impressive. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options that satisfied everyone in our group. There was an egg station with freshly made omelets, boiled and fried eggs, a range of cheeses, yogurts, flavored dairy products, fresh pastries like croissants and muffins, and traditional Egyptian items like falafel, ful medames, and fried eggplants. Fresh fruits, natural juices, coffee, and tea were always available, making breakfast complete and satisfying. Lunch was equally rich with choices. The grill section served kofta, shish tawook, and lamb chops. Daily hot dishes included oven-baked chicken with potatoes, lamb kabsa, creamy pasta bakes, and stuffed grape leaves. There was a diverse salad bar with tabbouleh, fattoush, green salads, tahini, and hummus. On some days, there were seafood options like fried shrimp and grilled calamari. Dessert stations offered both oriental sweets such as basbousa, konafa, and Om Ali, and western treats like cakes, mousse, and jellies. Dinner was another delightful experience with rotating dishes featuring both oriental and international flavors. Freshly baked pizzas made in a wood-fired oven were particularly enjoyable. There were also vegetarian options such as grilled vegetables, different pastas, hearty soups, and a generous salad and appetizer spread. Desserts like cheesecake and fruit tarts were delicious and beautifully presented. As for the specialty restaurants, the Italian restaurant provided a cozy, romantic atmosphere with elegant décor and authentic dishes. We tried ravioli, lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, and traditional wood-oven pizza. The tiramisu and panna cotta were the perfect way to end a perfect meal. The Mongolian restaurant was a unique experience where you could choose your own ingredients—noodles, vegetables, meats or chicken—and have them cooked live on a teppanyaki grill. The food was fresh, flavorful, and customizable to your taste. At the Indian restaurant, the dishes were bursting with authentic spices and aromas. We enjoyed chicken tikka masala, lamb biryani, and garlic naan bread. The flavors were rich but balanced, and everything was served with a clear explanation of ingredients from the attentive staff. The sushi bar was a paradise for sushi lovers. Everything was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a wide selection of nigiri, maki, and sashimi, with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger always available. The sushi chef was professional and even made custom rolls for us based on our preferences Overall, our stay at Sunrise Diamond Beach Resort Sharm El Sheikh was a luxurious and unforgettable experience. The service, cleanliness, food variety and quality, entertainment, and personalized attention made our vacation exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, elegance, fun, and a culinary journey that leaves a lasting impression. We will definitely come back again and recommend this place to...
