Ounasvaara NortsaV Tours, Kieppi Chalet — Hotel in Rovaniemi sub-region

This place is enchanting. We've traveled in March 2019 with my family including 2 children age 8 and 2. Safartica is the company managing this property. They offered to us the best customer service and fulfill every request we had to ask. ||We took the train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Another beautiful experience for the kids.||We reserved two cabins with bunk beds, bathroom and shower. Very comfortable.||You can book the train online (IC265 going up and IC266 going back to Helsinki). You can fly as well if you don't like the train.||The chalet is just fantastic. 3 bedrooms with 6 beds, full kitchen, 2 bathroom, one with inside sauna. Washer and dryer. Cozy Fireplace. Just all you need to live like home.||The hotel Sky Ounaasvaaran is at walking distance, were you can use their restaurant or just spend few hours having a drink. Also Grocery market is 20-25 minutes walking.||Plenty of tours available. It is cold but surprisingly not as cold as we thought. Helsinki was much colder.||Visit the close Santa Claus village (20-25 Euros by taxi). You can cross the Arctic Circle line right there. Husky and reindeer tour available at extra cost. My family of 4 stayed here at the end of October for 2 nights. My children are 6 and 9 and we managed to get very reasonable flights and the cabin was also great value. We hired a car and drove to the cabin from the airport. Car hire worked out cheaper than taxis to and from the airport and it allowed us the freedom to explore. I would really recommend hiring a car if you are staying here as you will probably need to make a trip to the supermarket and the Santa village, both are less than 15 minutes drive from the cabin. The cabin was very impressive on arrival. Really spacious and spotless clean. Our cabin slept 6, had 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen and a lovely porch outside. The log fire in the living room was so nice and we were really lucky as it snowed while we were there. There are lots of walking trails beside the cabin and my family loved exploring the woods in the snow. A family Trip to Lapland can be very expensive so having the option of just playing in the snow right by the cabin is great. Everything at the Santa Village has a price but staying here allowed us to build a snow man outside the cabin, explore the woods, cook a meal and enjoy it together. Really disappointed with our stay at the kieppi chalet. We only booked the cabin due to wanting the hot tub only to be told a week before we were coming that it was no longer available! When we arrived we were greeted with the noise of what i can only describe as a turkey stuck in a pipe. It was the air circulation vent that even when turned off the fan still made this horrid noise that you could hear from the front bedroom and lounge.obviously has a faulty fan but was told to just turn the dial down. As i say when turning it off didn't work. The loft room is fit for drawfs. We arent a tall family but my children hit their heads numerous times on the extremly low ceiling .The cabin was fairly clean but had cupboards that popped open on their own and doors that didn't close and we couldn't get the sauna to work either.could do with some maintenance to the place especially considering the prices being charged to stay here.
