Ounasvaaran Sporttimajoitus — Hotel in Rovaniemi sub-region

We went there during the winter time in end January. The entire area was covered by snow and we almost missed the house. This house basically have everything you need, fully functional kitchen, washing machine, dryer, hair dryer, sauna, drying machine for your skiing gear, snow slider for kids, 4G portable pocket wifi. It is actually a home away from home.||||It is not hard to find if you are driving, close to the petrol station and supermarket. If your trip is hunting for northern light, one of the best spot is drive to the top of Ounasvaara fell head a couple of hundred meters east of the Sky Hotel to the Tottorakka lift station. It is also very close to the Santa Claus Village (driving).||||We didn't meet anyone for this stay as we got the access code for the key via email and payment done online.||||The only thing we wanna complain is the kitchen equipment. Things are not being clean thoroughly by the previous group I supposed. Both chopping boards were so stinky, we have tried our best to clean them but still smelly. Please take good care of the cleanliness of the house as it is a place for family and kids.||||NOTE: Please bring some of your own currency coins and drop them in the plate above the fire place. It is fun to see how many nationalities have been visited this house. If you see mine, do drop a message here....

From Australia, we thought this place was amazing. Everything we needed, washing machine, shower, sauna, kitchen, toboganns, and walking distance to all the skiing runs. We didn’t ski at all! This place was winter wonderland, at the expense of Aurora borealis. Maybe with clear skies this place would be perfect. Had to call taxi but very easy with Finnish taxi app. No public transport but such a lovely cottage with all you’d need. Do a shop first. No restaurants in walking distance. Nothing to complain about,...

We were 8 people staying, and were not expecting much as we booked the best value accommodation for one night during our two day Santa experience. However we were very pleasantly surprised as the chalet was very clean, nice and warm and well supplied. There were free sledges which the kids loved. The snow work outside was done efficiently.
