Among the many problems with this place is that fact that it is one of the most expensive spa hotels we have visited in Finland, but they add extra charges for everything. While you can expect to pay for dressing gowns and slippers, they also made us pay for the most basic things, like the "laudeliina" (small cloths you use in the sauna for basic hygiene)... over 5 euros each! Despite being located in quite a large area (outside the centre of the town) they also charged high rates to park a car.||These would have been acceptable if the hotel was any good, but it was very poor: the hotel room was tiny, with the smallest child's bed I have ever seen, and lovely view across a massive flat roof, motorway, and industrial areas.||To make things worse, we were woken at 7am by horrendously loud cleaning carts banging up an down the corridor (probably made extra loud because there was no carpeting across much of the area). This continued non-stop for the next hour or more.||The breakfast was among the worst I have ever had, the dining area was crazy and really loud from all the echoing. The food was very poor, with no basics such as croissants or pastries and the hot food selection was a mound of unappealing bacon and some solid "scrambled egg", oh and meatballs. The fruit salad was full of slimy, over-ripe mango, wrinkled grapes, and tasteless melon.||The spa was also... not good. There were a couple of waterslides which were ok, but the pools were really small and odd-shaped so you couldn't actually swim properly. The one proper swimming pool was always unavailable because of endless water aerobics classes, while the one nice and relaxing warm pool was also closed for outside classes. There was one jacuzzi, which could fit about four people max, and as you can guess it was always full.||The changing rooms and shower area was also very strange and unwelcoming, with really weird design and hard to find stuff. In fact, the guest entrance to the spa was really horrible as it felt like going through service entrances: we were in our dressing gowns in the elevators and workmen kept joining, while to access the actual spa we had to walk through bare corridors which kept opening onto areas open to the public and the main hotel.||The staff were nice and at least it was easy to get to the city centre to go to a...
Read moreUnfriendly hotel with non-service oriented personnel|| |Liked · Hotel is rather clean and very good situated for the purpose of our travel in Turku. There are three place for eat on the territory. Pretty easy to reach any necessary locations at Turku from the hotel place.||Disliked · Attention to Booking.com!!!|Hotel always book the room in the most far and inconvenient location in the building with most cheapest possible category.|We called in the hotel two times and asked specifically about Safe Box availability. Both times hotel people convinced us that they have it and it is fully functional. After we arrived, safe box was not functioned and receptionist told us: "Service man could come in 20-30 minutes, but may be not come at all, because you arrive so late (18.00). If you like to walk-out or go to SPA, you could drop you staff here at reception desk". So, instead of giving us a service we paid for lady on the reception suggested us give her all our money and jewelry and to to swim. So, this is a level of service in that hotel. Finally, no service man arrived and safe not worked at all! Very unfriendly attitude to service delivery and guest requests. Also, we tried to call reception from the room (only own mobile phone possible to use), but after waiting 5-7 minutes waiting we got no response. Other moment, that hotel receptionist during our check-in try to "sell" us SPA service again, even we booked it at booking.com and get guaranty, that it is already included in our booking price. Additional "surprise", that all parking places near the hotel sold out to External Parking Managing Company and all customers arrived by car need to pay extra 14 euro per night (if car not electric, charging is separate cost as well). And finally, there are three place for eat (fast-food) on the territory of the hotel, however, SPA zone close at 21.00 and places for eat as well close at the same 21.00. Bingo! Dear customers, go our to eat!|Very unpleasant feeling for stay. Hotel absolutely not care about guest and attitude are...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights between 17-19 February with our 1-year old child and will be unlikely to return again.
The hotel is NOT of 4-star quality by any means. The standard rooms are super tiny and in our case, with a stroller and a baby crib, it was even more tiny. The rooms did not have even the basic supplies like dishes, glasses or an electric kettle but the most annoying thing was that there was no fridge!
We saw many other couples with small children and yet the hotel has decided not to include fridges in the rooms (probably hoping everyone would use the fast food restaurants included in the facility, instead) which meant that we had to store the baby food behind the reception counter in a locked fridge! This meant that we had to go back and forth the reception about 10 times a day just to manage to feed the child! This was super annoying and inconvenient!! Towards the end we got a bit lazy in returning the food back to the fridge which caused our child to have diarrhea on our way back home. Yippee!
The walls were likely made out of paper and we could hear the elevator beeps and sounds from outside the hotel room very clearly. The room was cold (just barely 20 degrees) and much less on the floor level where our baby was sleeping. We didn't manage to increase the temperature (probably fixed at that level to save costs).
During our 2-nights day the rooms were not cleaned at all! You can imagine the smell in the toilet after storing two days of baby diapers there!!
The temperature in the pool area was freezing the first day (prob. to save electricity) although the water itself was quite warm. The second day neither the steam sauna nor the jacuzzi pool were working. The pool all in all looked a bit outdated.
Only decent thing was breakfast but that wasn't enough to make up for the otherwise...
