If you are a fan of Harry Potter than this is the place for you! Experience authentic closet sized rooms!||In all seriousness though the hotel is not exactly what I expected. ||Hotel: The front entrance is actually in the back alley. Our checkin receptionist spoke English and gave us a room on the third floor. We dealt with another receptionist during checkout and overnight that not speak a single word of English. The staircase is cramped and tiny and steep so decide if you want to carry all your luggage up.||Room: tiny tiny tiny! There was hardly any room to walk around, but at least the bed was comfortable. The bathroom did not have a real door (just a plastic accordion door) so there was an extreme lack of privacy. The shower was nice if not the cleanest; it had hot water and good pressure. However it will take forever for the room to stop being steamy after your shower.||Amenities: there is no parking on site but we managed to find pay parking nearby. Check the toll, but in the late evening and on Sunday's it should be free. |I would advise against the breakfast, just walk out the door and turn the corner and there is a lovely bakery. There is also a crepe shop just down the street!||The price is cheap and it was close to the historic centre which was a bonus and which is why I'm bumping it from...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed one night in Aix. This hotel was on the border of ok and poor. I gave it a two because while the staff were friendly and helpful, the quality of the hotel was pretty bad. The lack of a lift didn't bother us at all (but we are young and somewhat fit). It was the prevailing stench of sewage in the reception and our bathroom in the morning that made the experience lackluster. The walls are also very thin, we could hear our neighbors in their rooms talking, entering and leaving. Noise from the street easily entered the room despite the closed window and being on the 3rd floor. The internet also did not work at all in our room, and if we needed to check something, we had to go downstairs to reception to use it. However, the internet was slow even in there. The shampoo that was provided was terrible too. It didn't foam or even wash. I ended up using the bar of soap instead. Only winning aspects of the hotel was that the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was alright, and the location was fantastic (several highly recommended restaurants on Trip Advisor is literally around the corner). All in all, staying here was quite expensive for the little we got in return. I don't think we'll stay here again if we...
Read moreWe booked this hotel for a family of four and were a little concerned about how accommodating it will be since most hotels in Europe have tiny rooms and even tinier bathrooms. So a family of four traveling in Europe really has to do their research to find hotels that will prove accommodating by providing spacious rooms and family friendly staff. On both counts, the Arts Hotel exceeded our expectations by a significant amount. They are the main reason why we thought our stay in Aix en Provence was shorter than it ought to have been. ||The room they gave us was adjacent to their hotel in an apartment and it had 2 large beds, an extra bed, a kitchen and a fridge. We were blown away by the size and cleanliness of the room and the bath room. They are at five star luxury level!||Aix en Provence is a beautiful town. Needless to say this hotel is right in the best part of the town and you will never have to walk more than 10 mins to reach any tourist hot spot. ||The Manager at the desk was very kind and helpful and we found everything to be wonderful and top notch. An additional touch was the AC in our room which ran quiet throughout the night. ||Highly recommended for families traveling with children that want to...
