The real taste of food can be experienced only if it is made with open heart. Le Pat Thaï restaurant in Aix en Provence is one such place where the chef Linda is doing the same.
Taste = Best Why? The chef use the fresh ingredients to cook the meal in front of your eyes. The entire range of stuff you’ll eat here is prepared by herself. The recipes are her own and they’re authentic. She have not modified them just to lure clients. They’re not burning hot spiced thaïlandaise street foods, they’re true gastronomic thaïlandaise cuisine.
Service = Good This is a family run restaurant operated by the chef Linda and her partner Julien. Julien is great with service and completely synced with Chef’s timings and actions. You’ll get the freshly prepared dish just right hot on your table as soon as it’s ready. One might feel it slow when the restaurant is full, however everything is in front of your eyes. You can see what’s going on the kitchen or in the service corridors.
Prices = Okay It’s worth what you pay for what you actually experience. Compared to the prices of restaurants in Aix, I’d say they’re reasonable. The portions are quite apt.
The best part, chef takes into account the special requests as well. Please be wise to see if the kitchen stressed with several orders or relaxed to deviate for special requests before making one.
Drinks = Amazing The chef special detox drinks are must try. They’re freshly prepared for you with fresh herbs and ingredients. Of course they’ve a wide range of soft, wines and Thai beers as well. Yet there’s no comparison of the in house drinks.

Read moreI often read that someone has found a hidden gem, and have often thought what does that mean? I know that now. Today, Thursday 25 July, my wife and I passed by Le Pât-Thai Restaurant where there were three people on their way in, we were inspired and went inside.
The restaurant had probably room for a maximum of 15 people and the kitchen was part of the restaurant, so you can sit and watch while the magic happens. My wife ordered some fresh spring rolls and a Pad Thai.
Starting with the spring roll, the one we tasted was crunchy crispy chicken and perfectly matched vegetables with a touch of mint. A fantastic mouth ful. we agreed that it was clearly the best fresh spring roll we had tasted.
My dish was, as often, a pannang curry. And after visiting Thailand three times and having eaten many pannang curry dishes, I have a solid basis for comparison, and this evening I had without a doubt the best pannang curry I have ever tasted. If we compare the food we got with the friendly service we got, I now know what a hidden gem is, we...
Read moreTucked away in the beautiful streets of Aix-En-Provence lies a true hidden jem. This restaurant is run by the kindest team. The food is truly authentic Thai and hearing the chefs story of when she first opened 10 years ago and would work 24/7 to run this restaurant, shows their dedication to quality and authentic dishes. We enjoyed the fresh rolls with shrimp, chicken satay, pad Thai and massaman curry and all the dishes were delicious! As someone travelling on my babymoon and struggling at other restaurants that were unwilling to answer questions about ingredients or offer dishes that I could eat. It was so nice to go somewhere where the staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions and I was able to enjoy every dish! Le Pat Thai is a must try while in Aix I promise you will love it as...
