Below is my email to the hotel. I always like to give people time to respond and make redress. But, despite having followed up, I have had no response. My email says it all - lack of hot water is a pretty fundamental failing! ||I would have given it two star, as I am fair, but having had no response whatsoever, it's a one.||||Jan 15, 2025, 2:12 PM|to Réservation||Hello||We checked out of the hotel on 1 January and I was promised that the hotel manager would contact me to address the issues we had during our stay.||Most importantly, we had no hot water during our stay. When skiing, warmth and hot water are the most important things. My wife had caught a bit of a chill that day and that became a chest infection that she is still battling with. All she wanted that evening was a hot bath or shower, but as I say, there was no hot water and the room was barely warm enough. ||I am disappointed not to have heard from you with a suggestion on how you would make amends for such a major failing. I raised the problem with reception three times during our stay, but the only response from your staff was to say they understood, but there was nothing they could do, as no technicians were available. ||Also as mentioned during the stay, the signage to your ski locker is wholly inadequate. I was a little insulted by your staff member who seemed to think I might be confused because the signs are in French. Firstly I speak good French and secondly, any English speaker would easily be able to understand the sign. The issue is that when one arrives from the outside door, there is a sign for the Ski Locker room, but the nearest door leads into the parking garage. There is nothing in the garage to indicate that the locker room is on the other side of that garage (it's a large garage!). That would be very easily dealt with by a sign in the garage.||Finally, we ate at the hotel with friends on 1 January - one of the ordered starters didn't arrive at all (but no one checked on this), and despite ordering burgers/steaks with different cuisson, the waiters indicated they were all the same.||We stayed at Basecap a couple of years ago, but whilst it wasn't great (the shower cubicle leaked and the room felt very basic), we decided to give it another chance. Having paid €472, for just two nights, room only - after the experience we had, I will be leaving a fair and full...
Read moreThis hotel is an unethical, corporate place that has no consideration for the safety of its tenants. I called and messaged before I left my city to let them know of my late arrival. Both times they informed me that a receptionist will separately call or email to tell me of my arrival instructions. I did not receive any call or email containing the instructions. The website also says their reception is 24h. When I arrived, the doors were locked, there was a code box to which I had no answer to, and I could not enter. I was stranded in the dark for 3 hours until I got help from strangers, putting myself at great risk, to find another, much more expensive hotel. By the time I was indoors at another hotel, it was 3am. I called them the next day to tell them what happened and requested transportation back to the base camp lodge as it was their miscommunication that caused my trouble. They denied this. I never went to the lodge. I filed a complaint with booking.com of this situation and the lodge had apparently told them a lie and said they did accommodate me, when I did not even enter their building, let alone check in/out. Do not book with them and if you do, make sure they have your correct information and don't assume that they will care about you when you are danger/ have gone through a dangerous situation because of their...
Read moreOur room must’ve been designed by somebody who did not do any user testing on it. We had a room for three people which included a sofa, pullout bed on the first floor and a loft with two twin beds. When you pull out the sofa bed on the first floor, there was less than a foot of space between it and the wall, and it became impossible to walk around it. So the impact of that was that anybody who was upstairs and wanted to come down and use the bathroom would have to actually step on the bed. Or the person who would be sleeping downstairs furthest from the bathroom would have to climb over the other person to get to the bathroom. Completely ridiculous!||The loft had a skylight, and there was supposed to be some sort of a stick to open it, which was not in our room. Otherwise, the loft felt kind of claustrophobic because there was no window to see out, and there was only a door down on the first floor to look out to a balcony that had no chairs. The loft was hot and there was not an obvious way to cool the room down. Other than to leave the door open to the balcony.||On the plus side, the laundry we washed and hung up on the heater/towel rack in the bathroom all dried quickly.||The restaurant was nice for dinner|Not...
