Worst general manager we have ever encountered. We had an issue with our Skipass that tuned out to be the hotels fault. Guillaume Daujon was arrogant, condescending, unprofessional, and rude. It escalated to the point that we had no choice but to sent the following email to his manager (still waiting for a reply) and clearly the management strategy in this hotel is to insult you and to accuse you of lying in order to get rid of you as fast as possible over even trying to do a a y solution — stay away, because if something goes wrong it can ruin a holiday. To be fair the reception team was nice and they tried their best to resolve the issue, but unfortunately they have no decision making power. Dear Mr. Casseres, We ordered three ski passes from your hotel. One of them did not work, and one of us was running around all day to fix the problem. All the personnel at the ski lift and the central ticket station from, which she had to walk back and forth twice, told her that the hotel should refund the day for the ski pass. As this error happened at your hotel, we got back to the hotel reception to ask about the problem, and the staff was very friendly, but they informed us that Mr. Guillaume Daujon, the manager, is the only person who can grant refunds. We asked them to contact him and get a refund. Later, we arrived at the reception again to ask if it worked with the refund, and they told us that Mr. Daujon said no. I called Mr. Daujon, and at first, he was rude, unprofessional, and condescending, cutting me off, not letting me talk and explain the situation. After I finished explaining, he refused to answer and made a very snide unprofessional comment with a condescending laugh saying, “so am I allowed to talk now, I don’t know?” because I asked him to let me finish my sentence. Mr. Daujon already had a preconceived perception of us that we are trying to get something for free that we don’t deserve claiming that this is something that was resolved within 10 minutes. Yet this was not the case in our situation, and his predisposed perception made him think that we are arguing about money. For us, this is unacceptable behavior of a five-star hotel manager, whom we are forced to run after during our vacation time. After I repeated myself, he mentioned that he would investigate this and get back to me. I informed him that we had written confirmation from the ski station ticketing office that states the error happened at the hotel and that we left a copy at the reception of Chalet Skadi in Val d’Isere. We still have not received a reply, and we are leaving tomorrow. The error happened on Monday, and it is now Friday, and we tried to call Mr. Daujon on multiple occasions. We are unhappy with the stay, and it will reflect in our reviews. In the end, we asked at the reception who Mr. Daujon’s superior is, and we wanted to inform you of his misconduct. It’s unprofessional and honestly not only rude and condescending after we spent one day running around trying to solve a problem that was created by your hotel and an additional three days of hunting down an incompetent hotel manager. Mistakes happen, but his tone and unprofessionalism are something we have never experienced anywhere around the world, and we travel a lot. We are still waiting for the refund to happen, but at this point, we accept the fact that Mr. Daujon and the Village Montana group cheated us out of this.
Update 17.02.2020: We still have not heard back from Hotel Montana Village Groupe and at this point we wrote off the money they owe us. Needless to say we will never stay at any of their Hotels again.
Update 03.03.2020: We received a reply on this Google review, over half a month later. But the problem persists and a solution was not provided. To us it seems that Mr. Daujon is just trying to safe his own face. "The satisfaction of our guests is our priority" - Mr.Daujon (below). If that were the case we would have received a refund for the ski pass or at the very least a personal apology (they have our contact info) and not a public window...
Read moreThis was the most beautiful chalet. Perfect location relative to the ski lifts so it was very quite. Near the free shuttle to the slopes so very convenient. The chalets are very large, we had a two bedroom and two bathroom chalet with fully equipped kitchen with nice full size appliances. Next door to a fully stocked grocery store so you can cook if you chose. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Customer service at the front lobby is top notch- very friendly and helpful. The ski locker room is clean and nice and spacious. We safely parked our car in the underground parking which had plenty of room. The pool is nice especially after skiing. Our chalet looked out onto the mountains covered in snow- very picturesque! We also had a balcony and fireplace- ask for this type of room. Ceilings were high and slanted making the chalet very roomy. The room was spotless upon arrival. While you can check in at 2-3pm, your room is not guaranteed until 5:00pm but it was well worth the wait. I don’t think we could have picked a better chalet in Val d’Isere and we will return! Thanks for a very special Christmas experience!...
Read moreLovely spa for those snowed in days and sore legs after a long day’s skiing. Accommodation is of a high standard only criticism is you have to log into the WiFi each day which seems unnecessary. Location is great with ski rental shop next door, next to that is a good pizza place (book to eat in as very small restaurant) take away and next it is a supermarket which is not cheap but has a fresh orange juice machine deli counter fresh baguettes pain au chocolat etc and also a large wine selection. Getting to the main school area is easy just shuffle down the road and hop on the free bus which is one stop to the center or get off at the second stop ( you go in a tunnel under the slopes!) and you are then right next to the main lifts up to the main ski areas: Olympique takes you...
