Having enjoyed our ski holiday at Hotel Le Mottaret so much in January 2024, we decided to return again this year. Our expectations were high after last year but we were not disappointed and if anything enjoyed ourselves even more. ||Katie the manager and her friendly team of staff, were welcoming, attentive, helpful and professional and well presented, without exception.||We travelled with my daughter and son-in-law, on an all inclusive basis, staying in 2 Prestige Rooms with balconies;|The rooms were fresh, bright and clean, mountain view’s, comfortable beds, Good showers over baths, quality toiletries. Fairies came and freshened our rooms daily.||The lounge and bar was cosy and comfortable, live music on a couple evenings. As someone who does not want to ski all day, I enjoyed curling up on one of the sofas, with my kindle. Great bar staff, who despite the hotel being busy, remembered our favourite tipples from day 1. Alcohol/non alcohol choices for all inclusive were good, though it would be nice if a cider could be included on the wide list.||The restaurant was cosy and had a lovely atmosphere. Good service, quality, well presented food, At least 2 hot main choices, with sides, a special, nice array of salads, starters and cheeky deserts, Decent wines and beer served at the table. Breakfasts were exceptional. ABBA night, with singer was fun, with the staff dressing up and entertaining us with impromptu dancing between serving. Lunch was a little limited, to burgers, fries, or a hot dish of the day. It would be nice if perhaps soup and bread could be offered as an alternative but what was served was of good quality. There is however, the option of lunch vouchers to be used at a handful of restaurants on the slopes.||We had a wonderful time and along with many of other guests we met, we are already in the process of booking to return again next year. ||Well done to Katie and every member...
Read moreWe had a really great stay at this lovely hotel in prime position in Mottaret - perfect ski-in, ski-out location. Although it is a hotel, it had a really lovely chalet atmosphere, largely created by the very friendly, efficient and attentive staff. This included going the extra mile to look after one of our group who broke his knee including changing his room so that he had a ground floor room with a shower.
The quality of the accommodation, restaurant and other facilities were definitely much better than the hotel’s 3* rating - spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean rooms with lovely views; excellent restaurant with copious quantities of delicious buffet food; excellent spa facilities with gym, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, pool and massage; and the communal lounge area / bar and the ‘open-plan’ reception area which is a great innovation and sets the tone for the atmosphere of friendly efficiency that runs throughout the hotel.
However best of all were the staff who from the reception, to the bar staff, to the waiters/waitresses, chefs, housekeeping and management were all unfailingly polite, cheerful and helpful. They clearly enjoyed working with and for each other as a team and were well led / managed. A hotel is only as good as its staff - so Hotel Mottaret is up there with their best. Thanks for...
Read moreThe service of the staff really made our experience top level, I couldn't speak highly enough of the attention and care given by all the staff throughout the trip from reception to the bar and the resteraunt. The food at the resteraunt was top class, the Chef was friendly and out at service to provide information about the dishes and answer any questions, a great touch. Location is amazing, you are right on the slopes and can ski straight from the resort down to the lift. There is an area for storage of your ski gear and a hot tub out the front which you can use for free. Parking is available but during peak times can be very busy and hard to find a legal park Ski rentals available from the shop attached to the hotel On arrival it was very busy and as we were first timers, we expected some information about the hotel and resort to help us on our way however this didn't happen and we had to keep coming back to reception to find out all the information, would be good to have this information available in the room such as breakfast times, Internet availability, spa times, ski storage etc.
Certainly these smalls things were made up for by the attentive service of the staff, rang in the new year with the staff at the bar and was a great...
