Chalet La Source Cauterets — Hotel in Argelès-Gazost

What a home from home, we rented this amazing duplex apartment chalet in May with our children and grandchildren, 3 generations and were absolutely thrilled, so well equipped with everything you could think of. Comfortable with all that you need for babies and young children. Elegant for the adults. Great kitchen, each bedroom had its own ensuite except for the super large bathroom upstairs with a shower and big bath, great for kids. There are 6 bedrooms 5 comfortable and big enough for double beds. And one which has bunks, plus single or double as you need. All of a very high standard. Although it says parking for 3 cars there was plenty of space. We walked to the town. There is a lovely market on fridays. We went walking in the mountains and saw the waterfalls Pont de Espagne. There were wonderful walks for every level, long and short. On the sunday we went to the Pool complex and stayed 2 hours and water at 34 degs was just wonderful. We all enjoyed it from a 10 month old to 60+. Spent 2 hours there, best to go earlier! And we didn’t realise there were sauna, etc upstairs in the complex. The garden for this chalet is quite small, but you have the mountains. Down stairs the garden for the 4 bedroom apartment is amazing. Plenty of room to run around or sunbathing in the summer. But the larger apart has a fantastic covered terrace with exceptional views and inside the views are breathtaking. With large bay windows you imagine you are in the mountains. Six adult family members enjoyed this beautiful and recently renovated home in July 2022. Pleasant and accommodating hosts made renting this home easy. Multiple bedrooms and as many sparkling bathrooms accompanied a fully equipped and comfortable living space. And the view! Huge windows open up to a 180° view of village rooftops, green valleys and soaring mountain peaks. The view itself was worth the trip. A short, pleasant, 10 minute walk accesses restaurants and markets in the lovely Cauterets village. Hi, thank you for the awesome vacation!! This is a great place - views are wonderful and the bedroom situation is also great. From the outside, it is not like a "chalet" but that was never a problem. It is actually in an area on the edge of town so you are not really out in the forest. Easy walk to town and the town is charming. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies which was nice. The only problem we had was at first when we were trying to find the key to get in. Good communication as that was happening though so that was easily resolved. Definitely recommend this...
