Let’s start with the “positives”:
.The location is absolutely perfect! Not too far from main city centre Paris, there’s a train station that’s about a 3min walk away. Across from the hotel is a lovely pastry shop to start your day correct. Followed by a supermarket and smoking (CBD/vape) shop within 2min walking distance. The location is rather quiet and residential so there isn’t much hustle and bustle when trying to get a good nights rest.
.When I was first checking in I wasn’t to sure to make of the service from the receptionist (male) as I found his undertone to have a slight attitude when I was explaining that my room should be ready although I’m here before the check in time as I’ve message WEEKS prior my arrival informing the hotel of my scheduled arrival time. He couldn’t find sed message, and wanted to charge me to check in earlier but after actually taking the time to read through the system he miraculously found the message I had sent to the hotel and didn’t proceed to charge me for early check in. He didn’t offer the option to do luggage drop off and return for the regular check in time either, which I feel like is a lack of customer service as you haven’t presented me with all my options possible to find out what would be suited for me and my travel needs as a GUEST.
Negatives (brace yourself):
. The cleaning standards from the male cleaners was absolute below standard. On Sunday I requested for my room to be cleaned, I was mortified when I came back. The photos in the review is what I came back to after have a “room clean”. The floor was hoovered. The linen was only partially changed (still stains on the pillows), the cups were left in the same position I stacked them in. They ever so graciously left one towel set for a room occupancy of 2 people??? I suppose people share towels in Paris? The toilet roll and tissue box was left un-stocked. For the way they were rushing us to leave the room so they could clean, you would’ve thought you could see your reflection in the floor. To “solve the issue” me and my travel companion were offered a “free drink” from the bar and a “proper clean” the next day. If your staff don’t want to do basic cleaning task, send them home and find someone who enjoys the job.
. I’m not sure if it was due to my early check-in but, we stayed on floor 3 & my other companions were on floor 6 (we all had the same room type just different floor levels). When I would visit their room, the hall way lights were always on, however on floor 3 it seemed to be motion sensor (gives the vibe like our floor was unoccupied)Once the weekend of Beyoncé and fete de la musique passed I realised that there was bags of rubbish in the hallway since SUNDAY, mind you I checked out on Tuesday. That’s 2days. (In the photo below) and I thought to myself there’s no way this could be in the hallway so long if most of these rooms are occupied ??? It’s not a good look at all. All of level 3 felt like a little storage level where they just chuck rubbish when they can’t be asked. Never saw this on floor 6.
. Communication: most “prestige” hotels at least give you a directory sheet to tell you who to contact upon check in (e.g. dial 1 on the phone for reception etc. ) there was no informational sheet that gives you a list of what departments you can contact. So anything you want or need you have to go to reception and get it yourself. I’m a full able bodied person, so it’s not an issue but for less able people who may be reliant on room service, how do you guys expect that to work???
.there was a random chair outside with clothes at one of the entrances of the hotel. As you can guess, it was there for days….
Summary:
The hotel isn’t terrible but poor communication and customer service can really shape a negative view of a lovely establishment. It was anything but prestige. I’ve stayed in my fair share of 4-5 star hotels and this has to be one of the worst in terms of...
Read moreMy room was okay. Though I didn’t get a clean till I called service. I am not one to leave much review but my time to relax was ruined by a dude who was very rude to me. First on the phone when I called to confirm check out as I always do avoid issues. He commands me to come downstairs and talk to him then hangs up the phone. I come downstairs and he is further rude. I show him my booking and he says he has nothing about my check out on his system. How is that my fault when all I have is my booking. He continues to be rude and I get upset cos I can’t take him being rude when I paid for a stay to relax. He then calls his college and lies to the Collegue that I told him that the Collegue informed me checkout was 3. I get even more upset cos I am there literally showing my booking on the app on my phone not printed copy. And he is lying. When I said nothing about his Collegue. How would I know his Collegue when I arrived late n very exhausted.
I asked him to call his manager so I can speak to them. he call his manager rather than do as I say he decieded to play victim by telling her lies thinking as I don’t understand french he can say whatever. I had my Google translate on translating and he is further lying to the manager telling her I came down guns blazing and screaming at him as he did nothing. Also said that I was recording him when I did no such thing. He kept telling me the booking shows nothing on his system. I had asked him to call the manager or someone who understood English to help him instead he calls the manager and is lying again then drops the phone without allowing me to speak to them. Manager obviously takes his side without hearing from the customer, me. And he is still telling me the problem like it is my fault my complete booking isn’t reflective in their internal system inspite of seeing the evidence from my booking app that check out says 2
All this just cos I booked a hotel that had 2pm as checkout but they didn’t want me checking out at 2pm but at 12. I chose a late checkout hotel cos my trip back home was late and I wanted to get into town to buy something and still be able to take a shower before I left. I would say stay at the hotel but staff, very very very very rude. He wasn’t the only one that was rude but it takes a bit to get me upset and...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is new, so everything still looks nice and modern. However, the housekeeping service was very disappointing.
On the day we checked in, we noticed that the hair conditioner dispenser was completely empty. We assumed housekeeping would refill it the next day, but when we returned to the room that evening, it was still empty. I went to the front desk to report the issue. The staff member asked for our room number (401) and assured me that housekeeping would come right away. Unfortunately, no one showed up before we went to bed.
Throughout our 3-night stay, the used cups were never washed or replaced, water bottles weren’t replenished, and the hair conditioner was never refilled—even after I raised the issue in person.
If you're looking for a conveniently located hotel, this one is just 300 meters from the C-Train, which is a plus. But be sure to bring your own toiletries—shampoo, body wash, and conditioner—because they don’t seem to restock them, even if...
