Best Western Citadelle — Hotel in Besançon

This property has everything one needs for a short stay. The interior is very cosy and homy. Room was well equipped and bathroom was brand new. Bed was very comfortable too. We've had a nice rest at night. Everything is very clean and well thought through.||||Breakfast was delivered to our room on time and in an organised manner. ||||Pierre and Klervie at the reception were brilliant and went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. They have even helped to carry our bags to the room (we were moving and the car was full of bags that needed to be transported into the room). This was very sweet and kind of them. Furthermore, they were very polite and friendly. Excellent job. Excellent reception and first impression of the hotel. Management is lucky to have both of them. I've stayed in many hotels and this is not something normal to happen even in high-end properties.||||There is no restaurant in the hotel, but many nice places around. Easy to find something to...

Ich bin geschockt als ich schon in den Hotel ankam. Wir haben keine Hotel Parkplatz bekommen ,obvol online stand Parkplätze vorhanden. Wir suchten in der Stadt nach Parkplatz und müssten noch mal Parking bezahlen . Das wir nur eine Übernachtung gesucht ,gebucht haben müssten wir gesammte Auto Gebäck rausholen und in Zimmer bringen . Wie ärgerlich war ,als ich Zimmer sah ..Ich werde sagten nicht für 2 Personen geeignet. Absolut nicht . Mindestens 1 Person . Kleine Bad ,da passen 2 Personen nicht . Durch unseren gesammte Gebäck das wir aus dem Auto rausholen müsste (wäre gefährlich alles drin lassen auf jergendwelche Parkplatz) Zimmer war schon sooo voll das wir uns auf die Füsse treten müsste. Ich bin sehr verärgert. Frühstück gibst nur bei Bezahlung.. Das kann ich mehreren Überraschungen nicht verkraften. Ich bin müde und nur auf Durchreise. Gott sei Dank geht nächste Tag wieder weiter nach Süden . Der Hotel gibst sich nicht das online was es wirklich ist . Manche Bewertungen kann ich hier nicht nachvollziehen . Ich empfehle es auf keinen Fall ..Ich habe gesehen einges Meter weiter gibst besseres Hotel. Wir selbst schuld eingentlich wollt man in anderen Hotel ,als wir vor 2 Jahren dort auch waren . Leider gelandet in Hotel wo kein Geld wert ist . Nie wieder!!!😡

I was shocked when I arrived at the hotel.

We didn't get a parking space at the hotel, even though it said there were parking spaces online.

We looked for a parking space in the city and had to pay for parking again. As we had only booked an overnight stay, we had to take all the luggage from the car out and bring it to the room. How annoying it was when I saw the room... I'll say it's not suitable for 2 people. Absolutely not.

At least 1 person. Small bathroom, two people don't fit in it. Because of all the luggage we had to take out of the car (it would be dangerous to leave everything in any parking lot), the room was already so full that we were stepping on each other's toes.

I'm very annoyed.

Breakfast is only available if you pay...

I can't handle several surprises. I'm tired and just passing through. Thank God the next day we're heading south again.

The hotel doesn't appear online to be what it really is. I can't understand some of the reviews here.

I definitely don't recommend it. I saw that there is a better hotel a few meters away. It's our own fault, we actually wanted to stay in a different hotel when we were there 2 years ago. Unfortunately we ended up in a hotel that wasn't worth the money....

They charged me twice. About the first transaction, the lady said that money was "booked", but in reality it was charged, and I showed my e-banking application stating it, at check in. When I checked out, the same lady charged a second time. She told that they received the money just once (and I don't doubt it), but my problem of paying twice was not solved - but she really didn't care about my issue. Ultimately she told me that the bank will cancel the initial transaction over time. It's one month now, money is not refund, so I paid twice. Apart from this, about our "non-financial" experience: Hotel is cozy, but the mattress was very smelly, probably freshly treated by some product, releasing chemical vapours. The operator staying in the hotel during the night was a real gentleman, he changed us the room and helped us...
