Villa Les Palmiers — Hotel in Boulogne-sur-Mer

We decided for New Year that we would spend it in our favourite country - France. A friend of ours who owns a local restaurant in Wimereux booked what we thought was a B and B for 2 nights for us. We were impressed when we found that he had actually booked us into a lovely little apartment. 2 bedrooms, a living room, small kitchen and bathroom. All for the price of a B and B. In addition we were given the most amazing breakfast. In the refrigerator were lovely fresh yoghurts, butter, jams and fresh milk. The next morning we awoke to find that fresh baguettes, croissant, pain de chocolat and a selection of cheeses from the local area had been delivered in a picnic basket right to our door. So delicious and so beautifully presented. The owner and his wife were perfect hosts. They even gave us a lift to the restaurant for New Years Eve. Would not hesitate to return. Would recommend to families and to couples. 2 steps from the beach where lovely restaurants abound. Walk into the little town with its lovely little bakeries etc. Lovely surroundings, lots of pleasant villages to visit within a short driving distance of Wimereux and of course the markets in Boulogne to visit for fresh fish...

This was by far our favorite place we stayed in the three weeks we were traveling in Europe--in a word, it was charming! Though we booked a triple room, we literally had the second story apartment--fully furnished with living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms. It was spacious, comfortable, and quiet.||||The fridge was filled with breakfast items and upon our arrival we were asked what type of bread we would like for breakfast as well as what time we'd like it delivered. The owner's hospitality was incredible. We had inquired concerning restaurants in the area--due to the late hour and being in the off season, the owner disappeared for a moment and returned with fresh bread, delicious ham, and a box of pasta so we could make something to eat for dinner in the kitchen. Easy to find in Wimereux. Parking not great but spaces available in nearby side streets. The exterior of the building is a little disconcerting but it masks great accommodation in the form of two 4 roomed apartments! The proprietors have every consideration taken into account. The rooms are well furnished and have some food and provisions on hand. The facilities are suitable for a longer stay than our overnight one warranted. Definitely will use this chambres d'hotes again as it is very handy to the A16, Eurotunnel and shopping complexes. The proprietors were most pleasant and accommodating. I wholeheartedly...
