Hôtel Kyriad Châlon-Sur-Saône — Hotel in Chalon-sur-Saône

We stayed here on an overnight stop before heading north. It was the only available hotel in the city due to the music festival taking place that evening. On arrival, as I was about to walk into the reception, two ladies walked out of the door past me. I thought they were guests but it turns out it was the reception staff going around the side of the building for a cigarette. When she eventually came back in she booked us in and gave me a key to a room. Arriving at the room I noticed the door was open, upon looking inside I noticed the room hadn't been serviced (see pic). I went back to reception to complain and she abruptly told me that I may have to wait, motioning that we had maybe arrived too early in the day (1530hrs). I asked for another room to which she gave us one on the other side of the corridor. Arriving at this room the cleaner opens the door to greet us and explain the room will be free shortly, we wait outside the room for around 10 minutes before being able to get in.|The rooms seem recently refurbished but small, they are definitely not cleaned well and both of us have left with small bug bites all over our bodies. The hotel for what you get is definitely not worth the money at around €81 per night. It is worth noting that the hotel is disjointed, so the reception is separate to most of the rooms and the secure garage, which is dimly lit, is up the street and not attached to...

We reserved an overnight in this hotel on the basis of its location in the town. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful but our room was disappointing and didn't really have much of a positive nature going for it. It was small and very basic, particularly the bathroom. The basin and pedestal style tap were ultra modern (and expensive I imagine) but there was no room to put one's toilet bag etc, and why oh why does the shower-head not have a wall bracket? The entrance to the accommodation smelled of the dirty laundry, stored there awaiting the laundry collection (I presume). On the plus side, the garage parking was very close by (pre-booked) and the breakfast (in the continental style) was good and served in an attractive cellar...

The ultimate disappointment with this hotel...if you are looking to stay here, find another hotel......wireless does not work in many parts of the hotel....have work to do in your room, forget about it....air conditioning in room does not work....no remote found...went to front desk......with a sweet French smile...young lady says it must be broken....well mademoiselle, you are correct...it is broken....no air conditioning in room....room 66....suggest the manager fix it along with schooling for the young lady at the front desk at 1800 to stop throwing so much attitude at paying guests.....will not stay here again...do...
