This was our second stay at Camping Manaysse and I would happily return any number of times. I’m really surprised to find that there are no previous comments by English visitors - just look at the previous reviews and you’ll see how much the site is appreciated, particularly by French campers. The reason is simple - it’s a lovely family-run site which is friendly, well maintained and so convenient for Moustiers-Sainte-Marie and the Gorge de Verdon. The pitches are not massive, but are adequate and most have some shade. For people in tents there are also some nice grassed areas. We stayed 1 night in August 2020 to be well located for visiting Moustiers St Marie (a 20 minute walk up the hill) and the Verdon Gorge (15 minute drive). We arrived around 3pm without a reservation and were given a decent shady pitch for 1 night. There's not a lot space in between each pitch, but we had respectful neighbours so it wasn't a problem. There aren't lots of facilities, especially for children, but what they have is clean, and in a beautiful rustic setting. The real highlight for us was sitting on the verandah outside reception, having a drink (from the reasonably priced fridge) and playing cards while looking directly at Moustiers St Marie - just stunning! And the family who run the site are very friendly.
Some advice - it's worth booking a table if you plan to eat dinner in...
