Tourist Trap...!! Came here for lunch on the excursion to Gorges du Verdon in May 2025. At first the tour guide took us (24 people in 3 vans) to the Les Magnans restaurant but it was too crowded so she brought us to Brasserie Chez Benoit restaurant just across the street from Les Magnans. It wasn't busy at the time. We ordered a pizza, it was more than enough for two of us so we asked for two empty plates to share. When paying the bill, we saw a 5 euro item we didn't recognize. We asked and they said it was an additional charge for sharing. The lousy thing about this was that THEY DID NOT TELL US about the charge when we asked for 2 plates to share. What a rip off! Do they expect we ordered 2 pizzas instead of one? This restaurant was taking advantage of the tourists and should be avoided.
Update: I think the owner had mistaken us for someone else. We did not ordered a coke and our bill was different because I had a beer and my wife had a coffee. Anyway I said "tourist trap" because they did not say to me it would cost me 5 euros when I asked for 2 additional plates to share (unless they expect us to order 2 pizzas). Normally people can eat pizza without a plate, why pay 5 euros for the plate if you know?
We traveled to Europe more than 10 times in the last 3 years from Italy, Greece, Portugal, UK, etc. to France, this is the first time we paid an additional 5 euros for sharing a pizza. The problem here you didn't tell your customers the cost of 2 plates when they asked then quietly charged them. No wonder the restaurant across the street was so crowded that they didn't have tables for our group and yours was almost empty...

First of all, there is no distance between tables for corona. Second, glasses for water are unclean to drink from.
My expectations where set high while reading the reviews, especially for their pizzas. Unfortunately it did not fulfill my expectations. Pizza was too cheesy (don't tell me how you can make a pizza too cheesy, but it was). Dough was thick and uneasy to chew in combination with the cheese.
The pizza I ordered also had random bits of hard olive pit chunks in them, my teeth are grateful for that.
Overal the politeness of the staff wasn't good at all, et alors, for choosing your meal.. Possible to maybe say it on a more friendly tone? Vous avez choisir monsieur et madame ?
Maybe you will have another experience when dining here, all I can say is that eating here was disappointing.
2 starts for the cold drinks that where ordered and the semi...
Read moreFirst time leaving a review: My group and I first desired a table outdoors, and despite there being an open table right near the door, our request was denied because “the outdoor is full”. When seated, it took a near 10 minutes for a waiter to even serve us water, and another 30 minutes passed before we received our food: a burger, a pizza, and a pasta. I don’t believe it should’ve taken that long for the food to come, especially since other tables had their food in a short amount of time. Even tables that arrived later than us were served before us. The food was mediocre, nothing special, and the servings were fine for their price. No staff asked us if we needed anything, we had to wave them over in order to get anything. I am just very disappointed at the speed of their service for some simple...
