We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and highly recommend it to all travelers. We are from the U.S. and wanted to stay somewhere near the Verdon Gorge and Lavender Fields. The location of this hotel is outstanding - 10 minute drive to the gorge (with stunning bridge view) and a 10 minute walk into Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. This village is a must see, make sure you go into town! Gorgeous and quaint. It's about 45 minutes drive to Lavender Field heaven.
Property - It's so beautiful on this property. I wanted to explore every inch. Also - clean and you can tell property owners keep the grounds groomed and cared for. Plenty of parking, which was so nice. A laundry room, which after weeks of travel is amazing, although expensive ( 5 euro to wash and 5 euro to dry). There is a pool on-site, which we utilized one afternoon, no complaints!
Breakfast - the best strawberry jam I ever had. It is tasty, plenty of options, and fresh. Sitting outside and eating in the morning was lovely and relaxing, I think I miss this the most. It is 15 Euro per person per day.
Owners/check-in - Friendly and communicative. We arrived much later than the check in hours. It was no problem at all and the owners worked with us to ensure we could access our room ahead of time. The next day, she found us at breakfast to welcome us and tell us all about the area.
Room - spacious, comfortable, clean, A/C. The curtains are black out...
Read moreLes Restanques is about a 10 min, very easy, walk to the centre of Moustieres Sainte Marie. We are about to end a 7 night stay here as a base for seeing and experiencing the area. We had Room 8, ground floor, very spacious, huge bathroom, little seating area (each room on the ground floor has this) with a dappled shade from a vine covered awning. It couldn’t be more lovely. Well the mattress is a little hard for us but apart from that its perfect. There’s air con which is a must in Provence in the Summer. The pool isn’t for lengths - more for dipping into when you get too hot. Breakfast is a leisurely affair with everything you could want - home made jams, local honey, goats cheese, meats, eggs, and more. Everything is spotlessly clean. Easy drive to the Verdon Gorge (we did it in both directions and you see different things each time), the Lac San Croix (pedallo/kayak up the gorge), pick up an ebike just below the hotel to see the area by bike is well worth it to get off the tourist trail and see the quieter back areas. Staff at the hotel are really friendly. its a quiet spot which we found so relaxing. Moustiers is a fantastic little...
Read moreThe Location: just on the outskirts of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. A pleasant walk or short drive to the town.
The Room: Good-sized room. Great amount of sun in the room. Shutters could be deployed to reduce heat from the sun. There was enough space for international travelers to unpack comfortably. The room was furnished simply. Views over the garden and local district. Air-con worked well.
The Staff: All staff we encountered were pleasant and courteous.
Food: Onsite restaurant is located on the ground floor, pleasant views to the garden. Breakfast buffet included a modest variety of: cereals, yogurt, cheeses, meats (unfortunately only pork products), breads/pastries, eggs station to boil your own eggs.
Facilities: In-ground swimming pool with a view to the local mountain range. Parking is close to the rooms, giving easy access when carry bags from the car.
Overall Impression: A pleasant, hotel in a quiet location for an overnight stay. Would happily...
