Possibly the only reason you're checking out this hotel is because it's the only 2 star hotel in the town, the location is good or you're due to stay here on a self guided walking trip. That's why we ended up here for two nights with World Expeditions/Utracks. Monsieur et Madame are delightful and the only reason that we didn't insist on being moved. The hotel has had it's hayday and it feels like stepping back into time while it waits to die. The restaurant is closed and now hosts the office area, exercise bike and cusions for the outdoor area that's tired and jaded with broken parasol frames and dead chairs. In fairness, while our room was circa 1950s, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included in our package but a croissant would have been 3.50 Euros extra! Utracks agreed to pay for our croissant which were absolutely delicious and waited for us like trophies on the warmth of the coffee machine. We were served diluting orange juice - a first ever in France but the coffee was delicious and I hope that wasn't just because we had complained to Utracks about the standard of the hotel? One night would have been okay to rest weary bones after a long walk but two nights in this depressing and dismal environment is unforgiveable - insist on...
Read moreA unique old hotel with tons of character in a wonderful town, all discovered by needing a place with parking not far from the Nice airport. Maybe not for folks who want a familiar brand-name experience, which can be found almost anywhere. La Lubiane is more quaint with not very contemporary style. Think old furniture and carpeting. But the vibe for us was like a 1950s French movie and the terrace alone had a view, of mountains and the old bridge, that was incredible. A perfect spot for coffee or wine and maybe trying to write like Hemingway. They even had free vintage postcards of the place and were generous in letting us use the bathroom and parking after checkout. In short, La Lubiane and Vence were unexpected highlights of a European trip...
Read moreVery sweet hotel with friendly staff. My room was cute. It had a fan, but no AC. I closed the window when I went out and it was so muggy when I came back, so if you stay here leave the window open. There are stairs, so prepare for that. My view was beautiful! Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the distance from Nice so I opted to check out early and stay at a hostel the next night (it was about 30€+ for an uber to Nice). Thank you for the...
