Hotel Lyonnais — Hotel in Nice

Awful service at the check-in counter. The guy responsible was slow and easy to disturb. It took him about an hour to check in 4 people. When a guy skipped the line and disturbed him serving a customer he did not say anything but started to serve that guy instead which took him about 20 minutes or even more. Rooms very really hot. Air conditioning not working. The bathroom stank awfully to the point it was so bad that we would not even want to use it anymore. Beds were alright. Mattress covered in plastic foil due to prior problems with bed bug infestation. Front door going out to a busy street was always opened which allowed literally everybody to just enter as they want - even strangers. Location was quite near to the train station near the main shopping road. Really busy area which was always loud especially in the morning as we had to sleep with the windows opened all the time due to the lack of air...

At first we got a room with used towels, some shoes standing around, a toothbrush and some more stuff that was still in the room.

You have to pay 10€ per night for air conditioning...and trust me when you're on the fifth floor you have to either pay or you need to keep your window open at night to be able to breath.

There are no blankets and when we asked for some, we got bed sheets.

They are also still renovating this place and it is quite loud in the morning.

If you have a room for three, you get beds that are on top of each other. One person is nearly lying on the ground, one in the middle and the other one further up.

If you think about renting a room here or sleeping on the street...trust me...the money ain't worth it.

I know that I shouldn't expect to much from a hostel, but in Germany we call this... UNTER ALLER SAU.

One of the worst hostels I've ever been to in my entire life! Over priced tiny dorm room with a 30 euro cash deposit. The staff are absolutely unfriendly and don't allow you to use the remote for the air conditioner. The staff yell at you treat you with disrespect. Owner is super unfriendly. They never gave us the remote for the air conditioner so we were boiling all night. Inhumane. Then check out is at 10:30 am if you're not out before then they'll keep your deposit. No Internet while I was staying. This place should be shut down. What ever happened to hostels welcoming you making you feel at home? Budget friendly for travelers? If you want to get a taste of bad hospitality in a place called Nice this will definitely give you...
