It was a good hostel. I would stay there again. The rooms were clean and of a good size for 4 people (2 sets of bunk beds). There was a sink in our room which is really convenient. The individual bathrooms were recently rennovated and looked modern. The front desk could give you some information. There was free breakfast (cereal/granola and crossiant bread), bread leftover from breakfast was free in the lobby for the rest of the day. There was free WiFi throughout (was not the fastest and lacked full signal in my room). Great view from my room of the streets of Paris. There were USB outlets in the rooms. But, they were not located near the beds, so you had to sleep away from your phone for the night. Not a big deal for me, just a heads up for others. Some Improvements that could be made. 1. Accept credit card payments! Luckily I read the terms and conditions of staying at the hostel and noticed they only accepted CASH (Euros). I stopped at an ATM on my way from the train station and pulled out €200 for the hostel. That's a lot of money to be carrying around. While sitting in the lobby to use the WiFi, there were about 5 different cases of people not having cash on them for the payment. There's an ATM up the street so it's not the end of the world, but I think the hostel needs to get with the times and accept credit card payments. 2. There was no handwashing soap in one of the bathrooms. No big deal, but then there was no handwashing soap in a 2nd bathroom when we checked in. The next day, there was handwashing soap, so: ok on bathroom cleanliness. 3. There were no organized activities suggested by the hostel during our stay. Like, information about free walking tours (cities like Paris have these). 4. There are awards posted near the front door about "best hostel" from 1997. That's over 21 years ago. Congrats on the awards, but I would take those down so you don't continue to live in the past. The most recent award was from 2011 I think. Not too dated, but makes guests wonder where the recent awards are? Some guests were probably not even alive in 1997. Overall: good. Would I stay there again: yes. Summary: This hostel offers great location to access of Paris. A 20ish minute walk to the Eiffel tower is great. Lots of local shops and restaurants in the area. The hostel seems to be stuck in the past by not accepting credit cards and displaying awards from over 20 years ago as if they are trying to prove themselves as "great" from recognition many years ago.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Listen to the reviews!! I read them and I was like ok but it’s close to the Eiffel Tower. DONT DO IT you’ll have to bus or metro anywhere else anyways. THE WIFI DOESNT WORK though it says I have full bars (not even enough check in for my flight) and my room didn’t have cell service. An older Indian man I guess works at the front desk wakes me up and comes INTO MY ALL FEMALE ROOM AT 11:30 PM. NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!!! I was just in a sports bra and shorts. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsettled all night knowing he could need to come into my room to grab stuff. I am a solo female traveler, was alone in my room and this was horrible. The front desk staff are incompetent. I understand they get new staff often but worst customer service or basic human interactions I’ve ever had at a hostel. The door keys kept deactivating for me and at least 6 other guests the first day!! (I asked why and how I could prevent it and he didn’t know). Oh and my room was outside and the bathroom is also outside or outside and then up the stairs so you need to have the key that keeps deactivating and pray you don’t get locked out in the cold when you pee at night. just stay somewhere else. They have big “no refunds” signs and I see why. This is not what was advertised. Their whole founders story I found very cute but run it’s so bad here. Breakfast: day old baguette, one packet butter, one packet jam, one type of sugary children’s cereal. PLEASE DONT STAY HERE IT IS HORRIBLE. Also look at the bathroom vent🤮

BUYER BEWARE! Pictures speak a thousand words, so I've uploaded lots. Stay ANYWHERE else. 1. Mold EVERYWHERE. Mold on the walls, ceilings, curtains. 2. Feces all over the walls. 3. Urine covering the toilets. 4. No hot water in bathroom. 5. Stained sheets. 6. Clogged shower drains. 7. Argumentative owner. 8. Blankets reused. Never washed. 9. Holes in the walls. 10. Shower only runs for 10 seconds with a button. No temperature control. No shower head. I could list 100 problems, that's just the top 10. This place should be shut down, there's no way it would pass a health and safety inspection. Also, they ONLY accept cash, which wasn't mentioned on their website or in the booking confirmation email. The closest ATM is in a dark, sketchy area. The ONLY good thing I have to say about this hostel: the night shift worker who checked me in was incredibly friendly and kind. He could do much, much better than that place.

tl;dr this was a great, clean, comfortable hostel in all respects in a fantastic location in Paris - perfect place to set up as home base for a roam in Paris. I found it slightly pricier for a budget hostel, but it was well worth the price. I would absolutely stay again and recommend to all travelling to Paris. ||||I will discuss several categories that are important to me regarding my stay at this hostel. They are BEDS, BATHROOMS, STAFF, OTHER.||||BEDS - 9/10||The rooms and the beds were fantastic. I had a room of 4, which I found spacious, well lit (two windows with a view onto the streets and natural sunlight), and welcoming. The beds/pillows were suitably comfortable and clean linens and blankets were provided. The room had ample charging ports for each bed and then extra, a sink/mirror within the room as well as two chairs and a small table. Very pleased. The only problem with the room was that the top bunks didn't have a side railing, so if you toss in your sleep it's possible to fall off the bed (!). That wasn't an issue for me or anyone in my room, but just a thought...||||BATHROOMS - 10/10||Best bathroom situation I've experienced in a hostel. For every 4 rooms, there was: 1 private toilet/sink, 1 public sink, 2 private showers (and of course you can go to any facility in the hostel if the one closest was occupied). Bathrooms were clean and modern and well lit. Showers were spacious. There was a shower curtain that separated the private stall into a "wet area" and a "dry area" and there was a stool as well as hooks for clothes. It was good for me to be able to wash comfortably and then also wash my clothes as well. The shower itself was like the showers at a swimming pool (in Canada), where you push the button and water runs for 10 seconds and then you have to push again. No way to control temperature, but it was a comfortable temp for me. ||||STAFF - 9/10||Wonderful, accommodating, and helpful staff at the front desk as well as cleaning/breakfast. I had no problem getting help when my room key didn't work when I returned to the hostel at 1AM. ||||OTHER - 10/10||Location is phenomenal. Just minutes walk from the champ de mars and the Eiffel tower, as well as the Champs Elysees. Perfect base to go late night roaming from. If you're a cat lover like me, there's a cute cat cafe literally just down the street! And the hostel is also a days walk away from many other top Paris attractions. I believe the hostel is also along the path to an elementary school - when I woke up in the morning and looked out the window, the streets were bustling with parents walking small children to school. It was not disruptive to sleep but it was a very nice to feel like you're simply existing in the middle of Parisian life. To me, it's a perfect home base for a stay in Paris. ||Free wifi was excellent and reached the room I was staying in well. The hostel also has public computers you can use in the lobby.||Breakfast is included and the breakfast I found to be quite excellent. The kitchen is also very quaint and a lovely place to get to know other travelers and enjoy the free breakfast. It added a very nice touch to the end of my stay at...

2024/Sept|I recently stayed at this hostel and it was one of the worst I've ever encountered - if not the worst. See all the comments on Google/trip advisor and draw your own conclusions. Here are the negatives and positives:|- Negative points:|. Internet with a weak signal, which gets worse when you are in the kitchen or in the rooms on the second floor. I needed to use the internet on my cell phone on several occasions|. There is no elevator and the spiral staircase can be dangerous if you have mobility problems or for the elderly|. Old structure (needs to be renovated as soon as possible)|. Unlike most hostels in big tourist cities, they charge for every thing that is given for free in other hostels: to rent towels they charge the rent + a deposit amount and even if you return the towels in good condition as expected, if you do not present a tiny receipt paper that you hand in at the entrance, the deposit amount is not refunded.|. Unlike most hostels, there are no bathroom options inside the dorms, just a shower.|. Room keys stop working whenever they are near electronic devices (I had to "reset" my room access card twice in three days... never seen this in any other hostel). So if you leave your room at night to go to the bathroom, sometimes you can't open the door when you return)|. Unlike most hostels, there are no sockets near all the beds (if you are on the bottom bunk, for example, you will have to charge your devices away from the bed)|. The alarm went off at around 4:45 am and all guests had to go downstairs and wait at reception until confirmation that everyhting was ok. I imagine it must happen often|. Rooms with very cramped showers and no cloths on the floor, leaving everything always very wet|. Unlike other hostels that have a cleaning team to do this after checkouts, they want you to hand over the sheets at checkout. This is usually the hotel's obligation and no one asks for this: you have to go down the cramped stairs (because there is no elevator) with suitcases and still carrying sheets to catch early flights/trains||- Positive points:|.It is well located in a relatively safe area of Paris (with a 30-minute walk you can reach the Trocadero/Eiffel Tower, for example).|. There are many useful shops nearby: franprix (a market 100 meters away), a laundry 50 meters away and numerous restaurants around (pizza hut, typical french boulangeries etc)|. The public bathrooms appear to be regularly cleaned.||To sum up: there are countless other more modern options in Paris with fair prices, further away than this hotel from the most central arrondissements, such as Generator and Le Village (which I recommend). This can be worked around, as the Paris metro system is very strong and you can find a station on every corner. The only thing that makes this hostel stand is the location, and even then it's not worth...
