Les Chambres Panda — Hotel in Romorantin-Lanthenay

· The room was a very generous size - though we were only two, the room was sufficient for a family of six. Our beds were comfortable. The position in the pretty town of St Aignan was good and crucially, we had a secure place to store our cycles. |||| · Unfortunately, a number of things did not go well. There was no-one there to meet us, though I had communicated by phone with the owner to alert him to the fact that we would be some 10-15 minutes later than our expected arrival time. After a long day's ride, one thing you don't want is to try to figure out where your room is. I had communicated by text in French with the owner who told me I could speak English with him; but when I called it was clear that he did not understand me. So communications were not great. When I asked where we could eat, he recommended a restaurant that was closed that evening (and is always closed on a Tuesday) which was unhelpful. ||By far the worst thing, though, was that the shower in our room was lacking a seal at the bottom of the shower door. This meant that water which hit the door went straight onto the floor, which was made of large ceramic tiles. These tiles turned into an ice rink with so much water sitting on the floor. It took me 3 minutes to have a shower and 20 minutes to clear up the resulting flood. I understand that the owner was aware of this problem but we were not alerted to it. Frankly, the shower room is thoroughly dangerous because of the slippery nature of the tiles with water on top of them. One slip could have ended my cycling holiday. The room should not be let our until the seal is attached to the door.||Breakfast was not included and we ate a good breakfast at a nearby cafe.||At no point did I see the owner and therefore did not have the opportunity to explain my dissatisfaction and my very real concern about the dangers posed by the shower room. 5 of us travelling together and needed a place just off the chateaux route. This place was perfect for our needs. We were able to book online, we got the entire 2nd floor to ourselves which had 3 rooms. Évidemment, je ne vais pas en dire du bien ! Aucune communication possible avec le directeur pour exposer ma version des faits. J'ai voulue annuler la nuitée, on me propose un report que j'accepte. 3 jours après on revient sur cette proposition et on me dit qu'on ne m'accueillera pas à la date du report prévu ! Je fais 2 mails toujours sans réponse à ce jour ! Nous avons donc perdu 90€ !! Nous gagnons le SMIC, nous ne pouvons rarement nous permettre ce genre d'escapade mais pour passer un moment en famille super, nous choisissons d'aller au ZOO DE Beauval, et pour limiter la fatigue de faire l'aller retour sur le même jour nous décidons de nous arrêter la veille et de visiter Saint-Aignan au passage (comme beaucoup j'imagine) ! Je ne remercie pas cette hôtel qui n'a pas fait en sorte de trouver une solution pour arranger notre WE (aucun sentiment n'entre en ligne de compte quand il s'agit de business). J'aurai accepter de prendre une part de responsabilité mais eux pas du tout. Quelle société de consommation c'est affolant ! J'avoue être un peu écœuré du système qui ne nous permet pas du tout d'annuler notre nuitée en passant par leur site internet directement (oui c'est moins cher mais...) et il y a écrit nul part les modalités d'annulation ou autre en cas de souci !
