It is a pretty average hotel. Our experience was not the best at all. One of the good things was that it was overall pretty clean so no issues there at all. On the first day we checked in and noticed that the rainfall shower in the room wasn’t attached to anything and that it was only a standard shower head with no wall attachment. Obviously you can not use that to wash yourself. We went to reception who came and saw the problem. One receptionist seemed to understand that it was unacceptable but another did not. They continued to tell us that they were aware that the shower was broken and we should use our hand to wash and one to hold the shower as water came out of the shower head so therefore it was ‘working’. We asked to move rooms or to have it fixed as we could not use that and it wasn’t what we paid for. They said that they couldn’t move us as they were fully booked and that they would have to clean the room that we had used (not our issue as that room shouldn’t have been given to anyone in the first place). Later on in the evening we came back to our hotel room open and unlocked. After entering the room a few minutes later a plumber came into the room. We went to reception asking why we hadn’t been made aware that we couldn’t go into our room (a phone call would have been appropriate) and why out door had been left unattended. They couldn’t give a straight answer. After the shower had been fixed it was merely warm. The next morning we told another receptionist about our issues and that the shower wasn’t warm and asked for some compensation for all of the problems and we were still in the same room. She said because it was ‘fixed’ in the same day that nothing would be given, despite how we were treated and spoken to by the staff. I asked to write a formal complaint and she said that it would go to her and nothing would be done which is disgusting. After hearing nothing for a while, on our last evening we got stopped at reception and the mood had completely changed (after we had contacted hotels.com) and they decided to change our room and offer free breakfast, which we were grateful for as we could now stay in the shower for longer than 2 mins without goosebumps. In my opinion, this was too little too late and didn’t make up for how we had been treated, I’m not too sure if it was due to us being young and they thought that they could get away with how they were treating us but it was horrible and quite upsetting. I wouldn’t recommend at all. It made our experience visiting Geneva really unpleasant. They just care about making money and not about your holiday and how they make you feel, even though you’re paying good money for a...
Read moreI had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, which is in an excellent location for getting to Gaillard and Ambilly, and using Annemasse station. I am not French so I had a lot of questions for the receptionists about the area and I needed them to repeat themselves sometimes, as my french isn't fluent yet. They were so so helpful, very patient with me and always so friendly and polite. The housekeeping staff was also very polite and helpful. The breakfast cost 10euros. It was fine. I'm not a big breakfast person so I didn't bother with it after the first 2 nights but there is a good selection of food available until ~10h00.
My only concern was that, in the second room I moved to, the air conditioning made a very high pitched whirring noise when it was turned on and this made it difficult to sleep. The little slot where the room key goes to use the electricity also made a ticking noise at all times and this was a bit distracting. So there was always a noise in the room which was a bit annoying but this is the only gripe I had and I didn't even bother telling the staff about it. I suppose the TV selections are pretty limited as well. Beds were comfy, although pillows were very very firm and i actually ended up using my own that I'd brought. Rooms were very very clean whenever I checked in for another night.
Read moreThis is the first time that i rate a hotel, i have been to many Campanile and Ibis, Etap hotels but this is the first time that the service was zo bad. They don’t care about their visitors safety and are not understanding.
I urge you don’t book this hotel, especially if you are with children. There are drugdealers dealing in the garage, homeless people and it’s in a very sorry state, i went with 2 small children with a carriage and the lift is broken and looks like its for a long while that its broken. Outside the hotel is very dangerous and feels and looks like a ghetto, not safe…. Especially if you travel with children.
When you tell them about it and they only say we cannot do anything about it, i understand that but when I cancelled the hotelroom they don’t want to refund. No service or understanding.
As i said the last 15/20 years i am using there hotels, never expected this bad service and understanding. If i was alone with my wife still wouldn’t be good but we can manage but with a 3 year old and 5month baby….
They care more about the money then the safety of there visitors.
I didn’t mind paying the first night, but they wouldn’t think about it.
The room was not very clean, big stains on the floor, badroom alot of dirty spots. We only stayed the night so didn’t see it all but if i see that in only a couple of hours imagine if we would be longer.
Again my advice don’t book.....
