Hotel Alba — Hotel in Saint-Malo

Fabulous place to stay in St Malo. Staff are lovely and customer service is excellent. The position is directly on the promenade. Sea view or rear view. Which ever you require obviously the sea view is more expensive. Rooms are modern tea and coffee facilities in the room. Towels changed when you require or every day. Room service is available everyday if required. Food is continental breakfast which was well presented and plentiful. Food is Tai for the evening although small menu it’s tasty and plenty of it. A good selection of other restaurants in the area if your not a fan. Disability The Alba is not for anyone with mobility issues. No lift to any of the floors a winding steep staircase to all floors the out side at the rear has lots of stairs to reach reception. The front you can access this from the promenade. Parking is at the rear with limited spaces. Although you can park in and around the hotel. If you come by Ferry it’s 25 minutes walk past the castle walls and shops restaurants. And the Quayside. This is an attractive, small hotel that is well within the city. The rooms that face the sea have an excellent view of the sandy beach and the promenade (very popular with joggers and power walkers). The rooms are acceptable (TV choice is somewhat limited). The small staff were very helpful and the buffet breakfast pretty wide-ranging. The place is, unfortunately, a bit of a problem for mobility impaired folk. Firstly, there are very limited car parking facilities (room for 6-7 cars). Secondly, reception is reach by flights of stone steps. Thirdly, there is no lift meaning that stairs have to be negotiated to get to the rooms. Will definitely never come back again!||First, the place was empty. We asked for a table and the waiter asked if we were going to eat or not. He said if we were eating there he could give us a table if we were only going to drink something then no. I don't know how it is possible in 2024 to ask people about their consumption and depending on their answer we will be served or not. I will NEVER come back again. Discrimination? Lazyness?
