Alpinebreaks — Hotel in Thonon-les-Bains

We stayed in Chalet Lac De Vonnes last week and the experience from start to finish was amazing. We were collected from the airport at the exact time agreed, brought to our chalet and met by our hosts, Ben and Alex, with cakes and prosecco, what's not to love :-). From the second we arrived to the minute we left Ben and Alex, as well as all the Alpine Breaks staff (Darren, Dan etc) could not have been more helpful. The chalet was beautifully decorated with amazing views over the valley. The hot tub was so nice at the end of the day. We had 4 children with us so little things like putting the skis in the van, to dropping and collecting us from the slopes every day made the week so much more relaxed and enjoyable. The food was fabulous and portion size perfect. There was cake waiting for us when we returned daily. Children's dinner was at 6pm followed by canape's and a 3 course meal for the adults. Wine and beer was flowing throughout the evening. What made it even more fantastic was the fact that Ben and Alex took the time to get to know the children and would cook each day taking their preferences into account. We recently stayed at Lac de Vonnes and it was brilliant. With COVID restrictions being lifted Darren & Naomi answered all our questions and advised on exactly what we needed to do. When there everything was effortless from the airport pickup, to lift drop offs/pick-ups, ski hire, lift passes and recommendations for both where to ski and apres ski. The chalet is really well equipped with everything you need for a holiday, even a boot room/nightclub/bar downstairs. It is really close to lots of lifts for in Chatel which can then access the whole Portes du Soleil region. Chatel is lovely too and only a 3min walk down the road. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to suit any preference. Our hosts, Evie & James were magnificent. Nothing was too much trouble and their cooking was superb. They were also really nice people. In fact, the whole team at Alpine Breaks were amazing, even letting us store our bags and shower on our last day so we could maximise our skiing time. I would thoroughly recommend Alpine Breaks to anyone...

Where to start?!? We are 2 families from Arizona who do a destination ski trip together each year. This year we decided to step it up and head over the pond. So fortunate to find Darren and AlpineBreaks! The level of service provided was outstanding, the chalet hosts Jake and Beulah were absolutely delightful, friendly, and accomodating and the food was above and beyond our expectations, which were pretty high ;)!! From the time we were picked up at the airport by Darren to being dropped back off, we felt very well cared for! Darren graciously offered to get us oriented the first day on the slopes - really an outstanding perk! Chalet remodel is beautiful (that fireplace is something!), has incomparable views from the living space, and the hot tub is also quite spectacularly sited with a convenient snowbank next to it to chill the wine bottle - brilliant ;)... While this isn't a trip that we can make frequently, we will look forward to the possibility of coming back in the future. Highly recommended Chalet...
