La Table Savoyarde — Restaurant in Thonon-les-Bains

We had a wonderful meal at La Table Savoyarde this evening. For a large table of five in a cosy restaurant, the service was brilliant and our host (also the owner, I think) was charming. He clearly cared a lot about the restaurant and this passion was apparent in the delicious, local food that he served. The Berthouds were exceptional. A fantastic place for dinner in Châtel. Really amazing food with local produce, charming decor, and the restaurant is run by a lovely guy who we think is waiter, chef and owner! My partner and I loved it so much we went twice in our 5 day trip! Nous sommes en vacances au ski avec mon copain et nous souhaitons nous faire une petite raclette traditionnelle. Nous sommes donc passés dans ce restaurant la veille afin de réserver. Le propriétaire nous annonce qu'il ne prend pas de réservation mais que nous serons les bienvenus, qu'il nous trouvera de la place ! Le soir meme nous arrivons et le propriétaire nous annonce avec un ton condescendant qu'il n'a pas de place pour nous alors que nous voyons clairement plusieurs tables vide (et non réservé puisqu'il ne prend pas de réservation.) Le problème n'est pas que le restaurant soit pleins, cela peut arriver, mais la manière dont le propriétaire fut désagréable et ne tienne pas ses engagements.
