This hotel was recommended to us as it had alot for family's to do instead of spending everyday in Disneyland itself and for something to do when you want to relax the kids are kept busy. The pool had three slides which sadly people crowd around at the bottom to see friends or family coming out meaning it's hard to get past people but also sadly means there is no actual space to swim if you wanted to. It does also say that parents have to be responsible for their own children and themselves as there isn't a life guard on duty ever. It was sadly closed 2 days we where there but opened quite quickly after a deep cleaning due to a child pooing in the pool in same place twice (at least it was cleaned and emptied out quite quickly.) The soft play area was closed also due to renovation as from early visitors reviews it was quite run down and sick on floor dried in and mould, but when we where staying I saw men taking away the old floors and putting new in so they clearly care what visitors think. The restaurant had great pirate themed setting, but I was sadly left hungry after my fish and chips meal I got more salad than chips and the pepsi sizes where quite small kids portions where big alot of chips with burger but only two chicken sticks and chips with my youngest meal. My oldest also got served the adult burger and we only found out when bill was paid which was annoying but hey at least he ate it and was filled by it was better than my fish and chips and only 2 euro dearer oh well. Buffet dinner is hit or miss as are most places but second day had chilli and Spanish chicken which was lovely though the chilli had more sweetcorn than actual spice or meat. So it's restaurant or buffet if eating in hotel unless you try Marcos pizza which was good although very cheesy for me is there a need to put more cheese on pizza after you've topped it already with more cheeses? Pool tables and plastic darts are also available to play as well as an arcade and a 3d cinema style seater game which I didn't try but I did use the arcade and yeah you need to but a card which you top up each time credits go done however two days in a row one machine in arcade kept beeping as was clearly broken yet no one ever unplugged it didn't bother me as wasn't in it long enough but heard others complain about it. Buffet breakfast is ok except pancakes could have been cooked fresh rather than from a packet and bacon was more less slices of very thin bacon I wasn't to happy with it but at least had brown sauce hp unlike other places. Beds and rooms for family's are great except our TV only had french TV no English channels at all but again this was only night time letting children relax before bed after long day of Disney. Beds are comfortable and have good duvets from our room we could see the neighbours hotel farm so was bonus see little animals each morning playing. The outdoor park is very nice especially in sun and my kids loved the pirate ship and oldest loved the big climbing frame slides. Only saw on last day there is a scenic walk around a lake behind the pool would have been nice for evening stroll or walk for couples but young kids after day at Disneyland nope! There is free shuttle bus to Disneyland that picks up at the hotel and a time table to let you know when it's due. Overall the hotel was great we just used it for the basics sleep and eating when back at nighttime there is also a coffee kiosk on the same floor as the shop and sweet shop so your spoilt for choice but it closes early so only got try it once the day we left in morning and my cookie was nice and boys enjoy there filled doughnuts. I would recommend the hotel to any family with you g kids who need to take a break from Disney sometime during there stay but still keep kids entertained or in our case to late to enjoy first day at the park so spent it at hotel. It's a great hotel for quick get away but I couldn't spend a week at it due to food selection for dinner and the fact my kids would get bored eventually like one did as well couldn't get into the pool. Can't talk about staff as didn't ask much of any questions but when I did they answered quickly except buffet at dinner time I had to remind them for my child's drink as we had waited twenty minutes for it and he was done eating. Room service was great cleaned rooms quickly except forgot give us a bin on second day. But by third it was there again. Great hotel for smaller kids but older ones will get bored quickly would go back especially if menus...
Read moreCOMPLETE EXPLORERS HOTEL REVIEW AMID COVID SEPT 2020 Came here the first weekend in September (just for the hotel, no Disney) and had an excellent stay. I too had my doubts reading the other reviews, but my advice is to just go for it! I come from Wisconsin and we are famous for our water parks, so I didn't have high expectations.. But I was pleasantly surprised with the Explorers Hotel. The only big thing I would recommend is try not to go when it might be busy during normal non pandemic times because the pool area isn't huge and only about 20 or so chairs. We really enjoyed having the almost empty hotel to ourselves. This place is perfect for those with kids from babies to pre-teens. If you are staying at the hotel and doing Disney, be aware your kids might not want to leave to go to the theme park. I saw a 6 year having melt down as his anxious parents were dragging him away from the pool window, trying to convince him Disney would be so much more fun. So if you want to get 100% of Disney, I'd stay at a more basic hotel. PROS You could easily spend a day or two here and not be bored. I was really impressed with the outdoor play area as well as the indoor soft play area. The pool is great because you can let your kids do as they please on their own and still be able to keep an eye on them. The slides are autonomous and there is a small wading pool for toddlers. Pool is open late and was actually quite beautiful both in the day and night. It was very clean and maintained. Floatation safety devices available for small kids as well as towels. The hotel is well connected to Disney with a free 10 min shuttle that comes every 25 minutes or so. (Its a large purple city bus that stops at several hotels, there's not much info easily available on the hotels website about it so we took a 6€ Uber not realizing it was an option on arrival) Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Building and rooms are clean (but read on for the negatives) and large, and I thought the bed was super comfortable if a bit firm (which is the standard in Europe for any of you Americans expecting fluffy down mattress pads!). We had the most standard room (120€ breakfast included) which is great for a family of 4 with a huge bed and nice bunk beds.
CONS I read hotel responses in other reviews concerning the dated rooms and that they were redone within the past few years and I'm wondering who on earth is responsible for the room decoration/design? It reminded me of how an American hotel would consider hotel rooms updated in the mid-90's. Not much is needed but a fresh coat of simple white paint would do wonders! The dark blue makes the rooms feel dark and closed. The counters of our room were stained and appeared wet (see photos) and although impeccably clean, just gave the room a dirty impression. I don't understand how the person in charge of the rooms doesn't fix this, it's so easy! I eat anything. That said, the food sucks and it's expensive. Bring your own food, especially snacks and drinks!! No in room fridges (at least in our room) but microwave is near the bar area. The 12€ Regina pizza was horrible. We did get a 17€ burger and fries from the restaurant that was excellent, but... 17€ 🙄 For the love of God, do yourself a favor and forbid your kids from entering the arcade. They would have more fun tossing 2€ coins off the amazing FREE outdoor playground than literally throwing them away in this garbage arcade. I didn't do the theater, but 5€ for a 4 minute movie smells like disappointment. Breakfast was meh, but I'm sure they are doing the best they can with covid restrictions. At least the coffee was self serve! CONCLUSION for 120€ a night you can't go wrong! Most of the previous complaints I read were from people that were expecting luxury at a budget price. For everything considered, I honestly think my four year old enjoyed the hotel more than she would have enjoyed Disney. The highlight was when she was eating her 1.90€ scoop of ice cream and with a huge smile she told me she wants to come here every day. I...

Paris hotel tax. Don't forget you must pay this on arrival (this is for all hotels in paris).
Accessibility friendly - yes. Many lifts. No issues seen.
Cleanliness - I didn't find any dirt in our room, in any public areas, or in the food court. However, we had no hand soap in our room. Not sure why. I assume this was in error and i did not ask, so i have not deducted from my score. 5/5
Room and size - We were situated on the ground floor near the end of a second long corridoor (9380). A meaningful walk back to the lobby but was nice and quiet. The room design and decor is as pictured on google. The main room opens to a pirate ship bunk bed and queen size double with desk and tv. which leads to a massive double room with only a bunk bed in. Although strange at first, it gave the kids ample floor space to play and use away from the parents in the evening, but kept the adults near the front door during the night. Moving to the beds themselves, we had super long days (0800-0100) so we crashed each night. However, it was noted that our matress (queen double) was extremely firm. As in, hard rock cafè firm. I susspect anyone who is used to a super soft matress would struggle to sleep here. The bathroom was a separate toilet bathroom setup, which was clean and usable, ableit a tad small. The toilet flush was borderline useless, so it took ages to flush. Overall, I was happy with room. 5/5
Staff - happy, friendly. Engaged well with the kids. We locked ourselves out and they replaced our key with no hassle. 5/5
Pool - clean, but a few broken tiles should have been replaced, rather than covered over with...small rubber tiles? Easily moved/knocked, which could have led to an accident. This is even more crucial because the pool is not manned. It costs €2 euros per towel for the duration of your stay, which isn't a deal breaker (or bring your own if you have the suitcase space). The lockers are in the 'hurt locker' with most broken, out of service, or just refused to work. Overall, it's a nice, small pool. Perfect for after disney. 4/5
Arcade - it has one. It also has 2 pool tables upstairs near the shop. We did not use any of it. Looked well maintained. N/A
Food and drink - we only ate breakfast, and it was continental. Pastries, ham, bread, yoghurt, etc. Was what I would expect from a FRENCH hotel. Omlette was able to be purchased, but we did not feel the need. Anyone complaining about the breakfast clearly had not been to France before. Smh. Clean. Variable and delicious. 5/5
Playarea outside - Didn't use it. Looks good. N/A
Soft Playarea inside. - seemed shut with no notice. We did not use it. Next to it there is a pirate ship to play in which was interesting but lacked thoroughfare for true play. 3/5
Shop - should check its pricing. 45g M&M's for €3??? Even the ending machine just outside was selling 100g M&M's for €3!! Don't bother with the shop unless you have to. It is Disney prices but not in Disney. Is open until 11pm. 2/5
Candy shop - We did not buy any candy. N/A
Storage lockers -. Same problem as the pool lockers but to a lesser extent. That said, once you work it out, the lockers are large and free, so good all round. 4/5
Bus transfers to disneyland. - Where to start. Every 10 minutes sounds great, and this service works well off-peak, but onpeak.. no. Just no. When you combine 50-100 people (some with strollers who refuse to collapse them) with 1 bus serving 2-4 hotels, so it might already be full, massive FOMO happens. The hotel does not implement a queueing system, so the spaces are first come, first serve. This is then compounded by the fact that PEOPLE STOP IN THE ENTERANCE. they want to be first on AND first off. This selfishness leads to some busses leaving at 70-80% capacity. 2.5/5
Misc.
Taxi's to Cassy Disneyland - for a family of 5, it will cost between €20 off-peak and €40-€50 on-peak.
Conclusion. The hotel itself is lovely, but bus links to Disneyland need revising. I would...
