Hôtel Icare — Hotel in Toulouse

Enjoyed a lovely stay at Hotel Icare with my parents. It is perfectly situated across the road from the train station and metro in Toulouse. An ideal location. The price for a room was €80/night for 3 of us which was pretty much as good as we could find. The staff were very friendly and helpful. ||The room itself was basic but absolutely fine for what we paid. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning in the rooms was great for such a hot evening. The room and en suite were small but ideal for a one night stay. We did not eat in the hotel but we were offered breakfast at €8/person which is pretty good for a buffet continental.||||Only 2 slight negatives were that under the beds was very dusty (I'm not sure it had been vacuumed prior to our arrival) and that there did not appear to be free wifi in the hotel (or if there was, we were not told about it). Hotel Icare is a small but conveniently located in front of Toulouse train and metro stations. Very clean, with helpful staff. To be used for a quick or short stop-over in Toulouse. With the metro just across the hotel, it takes just a few minutes to find yourself in the city historic centre. Otherwise, on foot it takes around 20 minutes to arrive. The hotel offers only a frugal breakfast, but around the hotel or in the train station one finds coffee shops for a quick breakfast before one starts exploring the city. Moderately priced hotel with small rooms. Although located in a busy boulevard it is a quiet hotel.and safe for there is always the receptionist who will open the main door for you...

Hola,||||Acabo de hacer una ruta por Francia con mi novio y nos hemos ido hospedando en muchos hoteles de distintas ciudades, y ahora que vuelvo venía con la idea de escribir mi opinión de este hotel en cuanto llegase para que no os pasara como a nosotros.||||Cogimos una habitación por 54euros, la más barata de nuestra ruta, y en las fotos que vimos por aquí pensamos bueno no estará tan mal... claro, pero es que estas fotos no corresponden a este precio! Nuestra habitación era oscura (daba a un patio, era un pasillo que daba como a un jardín y en esa primera planta del pasillo estaba nuestra ventana. Se sentía a la gente pasar por el pasillo todo el rato)||Era una habitación minuscula en la que solo cabia la cama y una mesa pequeña... llena de moscas y olor a tabaco. Y muy poco iluminada... ¡qué decepción al entrar!||Y lo peor de todo era el baño... era como un baño todo de plástico, como el de los trenes y los aviones... y bueno daba grima ir al baño o ducharse allí...||||Fatal de verdad, yo preferiría si vuelvo a Toulouse gastarme 20 euros más e ir a un sitio decente.||||Ademas de situación tampoco estaba muy céntrico, y el boulevard de al lado tenía muy mala pinta, no recomendable pasar por allí a la noche. Asi que bueno...||||y sobre el parking, en teoría lo tenían completo... en frente teneis un parking por 30 y tantos euros al día... ||Si aparcáis en su calle hay zona azul, pero que te deja echar solo por 2 horas, asi que si quereis hacer turismo tendríais que volver cada dos horas o bajar el coche al centro que es lo que hicimos nosotros.||||Otra cosa, nos pareció qeu de las ciudades en las que estuvimos Toulouse es la que peor señalizada está! Asi que si tenéis, os vendrá muy bien un gps.||||La ciudad preciosa, eso sí, muy recomendable y bohemia, me pareció muy bonita.||||Lo malo que nos daba "asco" volver al hotel.. :(||||Espero que no os pase...
