The hotel is very elegant. It has a nice common terrace and very beautiful dining hall. Staff were nice and helpful. But it lacks some standard features like a double bed (during booking the room my request was a double bed, but when we got the hotel, we saw separate beds. Receptionist said that the hotel doesn't have a double bed at all, what?), a television (you might oppose me, but nobody says no to a smart tv), a soft bed (I sleep almost on every bed but the mattress was not comfortable. I read the same complaint for other hotels too, it may be prevalent in Georgia, but it is the first among 3 different hotel experience in Georgia). Hotel requires the payment as cash, which is a minus. If you withdraw money from the nearby atm it charges you 16 lari (= 5 pieces of Hinkali). I don't like taking with me all my money and...
Read moreWhat a gem of a place! It’s a new family owned hotel with spotless rooms, great food, and really friendly service. I stayed in the king room with a terrace. The terrace is actually bigger than the room! And the room is really the perfect size, big but without being needlessly so. It’s a quiet place, food is served on the first floor. Breakfast is really delicious and fresh with a big selection of food. They do dinner as well and everything I ate was tasty and a good price. If you want to go to the Gelati monastery and the big waterfall, they can arrange that with either the brother or the dad taking you. Prices were better than getting a driver in town and the father walked with me to the waterfall. It astounds me that they only have 2 reviews. It’s really such a great place! Oh and the beds are...
Read moreI left Capra Hotel early because the experience was unacceptable. The listing claims “soundproof rooms” and a “peaceful setting,” but my room was directly beside a communal terrace with no sound barrier. Guests talked outside until 10:45 PM, and all of the noise poured straight into my room through the glass door.
When I asked the staff to intervene, they told me there was nothing they could do before 11 PM. Worse, management wrote to me that wanting to sleep without noise before 11 PM was just a “preference” and that their hotel might not be suited to my preferences. That is absurd and dismissive — no guest should be told that not wanting noise in their room at night is just a matter of preference.
This is not a soundproof or restful property. If you value sleep and honest treatment,...
