We recently stayed at Hotel Memoir Kazbegi, and while the mountain views were undeniably beautiful, the experience inside the hotel was deeply disappointing due to poor service, lack of professionalism, and even food safety issues.
To be fair, on our first evening, the staff did provide a baby chair for our daughter at dinner, which we appreciated. There were also some toys and games placed in a hallway near the restaurant, which gave the impression they were available for guest use. My wife took a couple of toys to entertain our child during dinner. As we were returning them after eating, a woman suddenly raised her voice at my wife, saying, “Miss, excuse me, this is my son’s toys,” and snatched them back with clear attitude. We were stunned — especially after realizing she was actually a member of the hotel staff. If those toys were personal, they should not have been left in a common guest area with no signage. Regardless, the tone and unprofessionalism were unacceptable.
That incident, unfortunately, set the tone for the rest of our stay. Staff were generally cold and dismissive, and we never truly felt welcomed or cared for. Requests for assistance were met with indifference, and there was no consistent Wi-Fi, which left us disconnected from our families during the stay — something particularly stressful when traveling with a small child.
Worst of all, we were served moldy bread at breakfast (photo attached). Couple slices had visible greenish spots clearly showing signs of rot. This is a basic health and hygiene failure and absolutely should not happen in any hotel, let alone one that markets itself as a comfortable destination.
In summary, while the location has potential, Hotel Memoir Kazbegi failed to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality, safety, and professionalism. We left feeling deeply disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to families or any travelers expecting respectful service and clean, properly...
Read moreWe have stayed their for 1 night few days back, we were a group of 17 people. First of all let me begin by saying that the reception and rooms were very good. Most staff were good, the reason why I said most is because of the incident we have faced in the hotel. It can be referred to as a case of racism. The breakfast timing was from 08am-10am, so we went to have breakfast at 09am, when we went there most of us were having breakfast with what was available but many items which was there was over, so one of our people have asked one of their staff to refill the cornflakes as it was over, he said finished, we asked for fried eggs, he said it cannot be done, we asked for fruit juice as just 1 bottle of juice was provided for 17 people when we asked he said cannot be given, when we asked him what will we eat, he abused us and said he cared a damn what we ate, he was continuously abusing us and on calling their manager, the manager supported his staff saying they cannot talk to their staff like that, where he was the one who abused us and started it. The breakfast time was from 08am to 10 am and this happened at approx 9.15am. This is probably racism towards us Indians that has taken place. Is this how you treat your guests? Abusing on asking to refill the food for us to eat? and managers defending their abusive staff and being rude to us. I hope the authorities find out and take strict action against staffs like these. AND NO WE DID NOT GET BREAKFAST ON THAT DAY AFTER THE...

We stayed at Hotel Memoir Kazbegi as a family of five, and overall it was a decent experience with some strong positives but also noticeable downsides.
Positives:
Perfect fit for families: the larger rooms (only 3 available) are well-equipped with a small kitchenette (stove, microwave, fridge, kettle, etc.), and the hotel even provides 1–2 cots free of charge. Extra mattresses are available for a fee.
Huge private terrace with sofas, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the mountain views.
The staff was helpful when we needed an extra heater for the room.
Good location—just a 10-minute walk to the town center, with an excellent view.
Hotel bar and dining available (though with a limited menu).
Large shared outdoor terrace as well.
Negatives:
Breakfast was quite average: limited fruit and juice variety, no live egg station, and no cappuccino/latte options.
Bathroom was small and had an unpleasant smell.
Hotel-arranged taxis cost nearly double compared to normal local prices.
Reception staff could be more welcoming.
Room and bathroom cleanliness was below expectations.
Overall: A family-friendly option in a great location with spacious rooms and terraces, but the hotel needs to improve on cleanliness, breakfast quality, and staff hospitality to make the experience...
