MOLD!!!!!! and NO SHOWER!!!
The first room that I was in had so much mold that I had to keep the bathroom door closed and run in while holding my breath to use the washroom. The mold was so bad that it didn't matter if the door was closed, my body was reacting so badly to this. I tried messaging the host MULTIPLE times but never got no response. I had to reach out to Expedia then I received an email saying the property will change you rooms. The receptionist took me into 3 different rooms which ALL still had mold so I had no choice but to choose the one with the least amount. I tried my best to avoid the bathroom but I had to shower at one point and wash my hair.. I go to turn on the shower and it DOESN'T WORK!!!!! little droplets of water came out which went from scorching hot to freezing cold. Once again, I reached out to the property and never got a response. The lights flickered, there was no toiletries, and I even had to go to the store to buy toilet paper because they didn't leave me enough. Needless to say this place was an absolute NIGHTMARE from the very first day to the last. Expedia tried to reach out to them in hopes of getting me a refund so I could go elsewhere but the property refused and Expedia did not help any further. This makes me never want to book another listing through Expedia, knowing these are the properties they have listed and are not willing to compensate or help in any way.
It won't let me post the videos of the shower and the lights flickering but I have them.
They also only clean the room once per week. Which is absurd for the...
Read moreSpent 2 weeks here in May. Fantastic location with superb access to trams and S-Bahn. You can easily reach any part of Berlin within 30 minutes (recommend BVG app). REWE is 5 minutes walk and great shop for getting some supplies. I had a studio room and it was good enough. Plenty of storage and a comfortable bed. The kitchen is OK. You have 2 hobs and a microwave plus fridge and coffee machine/toaster. Good enough for doing breakfast and keeping the beer/wine chilled but don't expect to be making fancy meals. That said, you are in Berlin so why stay in!. The downsides were: The shower is pathetic and no shelves to put shower gel bottles etc. Room was cleaned once in 2 weeks which is OK but would like clean towels more frequent and toilet paper replaced instead of having to buy some. I read another review where it said you could go to the store room to replenish but this info was not made available and I'm not a mind reader. Staff were invisible despite saying the desk was manned daytime. The one occasion I met someone was when the main entrance was being worked on and the door was closed. He pointed vaguely to use the other door at the back which I had no idea existed and he wasn't prepared to show me so I had to...
Read moreModern but overpriced
The room was modern and clean but smaller than expected, you barely have the space to open a luggage. The area in which the building is located is not great, however, you can reach the center with public transport really easily (positive: stops very nearby, negative: you can hear the loud trams with the windows open).
In the room you get dishwasher (+ pods), sponge, soap, kitchen towel, nespresso machine, kettle, hair dryer. If you need them, you can easily get cleaning products, extra toilet/kitchen paper etc with your room card.
Unfortunately the quality of mattress and pillows was quite bad and the bed very small.
We stayed for a week and got our room cleaned/towels changed after 2 days which was unexpected but appreciated. Anyway, for 950€ a week it is definitely overpriced.
Side note: We had an unpleasant Sunday morning when at 8.45 housekeeping woke us up making very loud noises in the hallway with cutlery, glasses and mugs. When addressed, the employee’s response was that they don’t speak German (very strange) and when I tried English, they turned around and walked away. Not...
