I had booked this hotel because it included a safe in the room. Within 30 minutes of arriving I contacted reception to advise that the safe wasn't working. A member of staff tried to open the save without luck and said the batteries would need replacing. The problem hadn't been resolved when I left 3 days later. In fairness I was offered another room but having just unpacked I wasn't prepared to repack and then unpack again expecting the batteries to be replaced quite quickly,||The next problem was the air conditioning wasn't working. A pedestal fan had been put in the room but it was noisy and simply moved hot air around the room. This meant the room was extremely hot throughout the stay.||||We decided to try the restaurant for an evening meal. When we tried to book a dessert at around 21,15 we were advised there were none left (the menu shows five different ones and a card on the table advertised two new ones), Five minutes after this we were asked to pay and move to the bar as the restaurant was closing, According to information in the room it was supposed to be open to 23.00. The food we had was, at best, alright.||The room didn't have any USB ports, very surprising in this day and age.||On the plus side the shower was both hot and powerful.||The room was basic but included a free minibar that was replenished daily.||Would I stay here again, very unlikely. Certainly would not...

Unglaublich schlecht!.

Very terrible.

Good location, easy staff, comfortable beds and lovely environment. Close to the train station and zoo by public transport at the corner.

However, the AC of our room was unfunctionnal. We walked into an over as we checked in on the Friday of the hottest weekend of Dresden.

When we confronted the staff at the reception, we were told that the AC could only be repaired on Monday as technicians work on week days only and that all room are booked. When we asked for a solution like a fan/ventilator, we received the answer that there’s none in the house and that we should only keep the window open. Without a choice, we did so and, of course, we come back to dust on the desk along bugs and mosquitoes on the ceiling (pictures).

When we wrote an email complaint to the manager, Sarah, whose name is on the front desk and on the website, we are left without any answer, even after a few week days.

There’s a certain standard for hotels to have equipments adapted for the weather. I find this lack of solution and response from the staff to be unacceptable. We didn’t pay this much money for a hotel room to receive a worse experience than some Hostels closer to the city center. If this problem persists, I suggest that buying a fan would be a good investment...

MY experience with this hotel was extremely bad and I hope the future users will benefits from my experience. The following were major concerns with the hotel: - If you have booked for a longer stay, you cannot cancel your stay in the middle eventhough you pay the fees day by day. In my case, I booked the hotel for 14 days, however, I did not like the place in the first two days. I managed to stay for 7 days and want to leave the place. They said the remaining stay charges will not be refunded, even though the terms clearly says the refund with 24 hours notice. THEY SAID TERMS ARE ONLY FOR THEIR BENEFIT AND THEIR DECISIONS WERE FINAL EVEN IF IT VIOLATES THE TERMS. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE. - The place is old, dirty and does not have an air conditioning. I could not rest in the summer night of this concrete jungle. There was a standing fan that would not help at all. FIRST TIME SAW A STANDING FAN IN A HOTEL. - The room service will NOT be provided, unless, you request them. Food wastes are stinking in my room and I was running out of toilet paper. But, anything you need, you need to go and request the reception. - OLD AND DIRTY BEDDING WITH THE BAD SMELL, STAIN ETC.

This building was an amazing historic old Towne villa from 1888. It has high ceilings, chandeliers, parquet wood floors and a ballroom. The lobby hosts a pool table and a snake tank! There were welcoming bakery breads and water in the lobby. The restaurant and bar are off the lobby in a nice location. The room was huge as was the tv. The room did lack cleanliness. It wasn't horribly disturbing but it was enough to make me wipe down the handles on doors and windows so that I felt like it was clean. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. The large windows opened to a fresh breeze nightly. Parking underground should have a couple more signs to direct where to park but it was included in price. Overall, a good place to stay for a weekend.
