I recently made the trip out to Munich solely for the purpose of spending some relaxing days completely detached from the real world at Therme Erding. I didn't want to go through all the effort of commuting all the way from Munich centre and wanted to spend FULL days at Therme Erding so I picked Motel Einstein which is only a 15 minute walk away.||It's a new hotel situated in an area that really has nothing going for it, but I didn't choose it as a tourist destination.||Check in is a little odd, with an automated machine at the front which presents you with a key and allows you into the building. It wasn't difficult to use but I felt it was annoying that a receptionist(?) had been sitting just inside the whole time - it would have been quicker to check in with a human and would have been a lot more personable.||The room was clean and tidy - lacked a bit of character, but then I wasn't looking for extravagance, just somewhere to put my head down for the night. I was a bit unimpressed with the window cover, it being a pull down blind rather than a curtain, and it didn't cover the width of the window - I could clearly see the outside from my bed with the blind drawn, which means people outside could see me if they wished.||The bathroom was very decent. It actually looked like they'd bought the bathroom in its entirety in kit form from IKEA, but it did the job.||The biggest let down for me was the breakfast. Though the eating area was very clean and well serviced, the food options were, I thought, limited. I supplemented breakfast each day with a trip to Lidl which is just a 5 minute walk away, for some extra sustenance (there's also the option of a McDonalds on the way if you're a fan of their breakfasts).||Like I said, I chose this hotel for its convenient location not for any extravagance, and it was the cheapest in the area. If I return to Therme Erding I might consider Motel Einstein again, but I would look at other choices first - a better breakfast would swing it for me.||A taxi direct from the airport cost me 36 Euros plus tip. On my return I had a late afternoon flight and with check out being at 10 a.m. I chose to take the train into Munich, have a mooch around and then another train back out to the airport. The ticket for that was only 12 Euros.||So, in...
Read moreIts obviously either very new or recently renovated. It was very clean and bright. I got a good rate online and the bed was comfortable. Not to much to complain about the hotel itself but there are a few things people should be aware of. There was no Air Conditioning, which was not an issue for me as the weather was perfectly mild for my visit. There is not much in the way of food options nearby other than a MCDonalds and an Italian Restaurant. Everything else is at least a 15-30 minute walk away. There are bus stops nearby and the trian station to either Erding or Munich is only a 15 minute walk away as well. If your there for teh Therme Erding, that is also about 15 minutes walk away but its through the country/farms which is lovely but I imagine it would be terrible...
Read moreMy husband and I just left Motel Einstein after a one-night stay, and we both agree that there’s nothing bad you can say about this place. If you want luxury... well, you have to pay more for that, but if you just need a no-frills, nice, quiet, clean, inexpensive, comfortable place to sleep... this is the right place for you. We did not book breakfast so I can’t speak to the quality of the food. We were concerned, however, that our room would be noisy in the morning since it was directly beside the door leading to the breakfast hall, but we didn’t hear a thing. We were very pleased with our choice...
