Classy business hotel! Stayed alone in a quite big room, big bed, great bathroom. The staff was super nice, friendly and helpful! Was able to check in half an hour early, so great! Also first couldn’t login in the wifi, they helped immediately:) but by far the best part was the huge breakfast buffet!! So much to choose from, fresh and good quality cheese, meat, fruit, veggies etc! Big plus: everything also available with vegan alternatives (and not only one! Milk was e.g. soy, almond and oat). Biggest plus was the gluten-free bun option!!! So great to have that! Thanks! 5/5 definitely!

Friendly staff, clean, dog friendly. This was just a short overnight for us. Early breakfast which is great when we just want to get back on the road. For dinner they gave us a list of good restaurants within 10-20 mins walking. We always feel at home with our dog staying at Motel One. Comfortable bed and room. Parking onsite so very convenient overall.

booked 4 nights. delayed and called serveral times. line occupied. not even a machine telling you...please hold the line etc. i should have listened to that inner voice telling me ohoh...your heading for....||finally arrived after midnight and was welcomed with a friendly smile by night host. got my key to the "quiet room". well...not. the room(325)was situated opposite of the parking and the airco on top of the roof made as much noise as a building construction.||so went down again. i said: i reserved a quiet room as you can see in your system and if there is not any available please inform me and than i can make a good decision. and pronto... i got a nice queit room as reserved(505). "we apologize sir for this inconvenience."| |hmmmm...let me see... if you have quiet rooms and it is mentioned in my reservation....why on earth give a room where you can't sleep even with windows closed?|anybody?||so in the afternoon i hear housekeeping staff outside my room. i rush to them and ask if my bed and towels still can be changed(13.00h) the man does not speak english only french. good for him, moi aussi. he said "oui" pas de probleme. ||arriving in my room again in the evening...the room is not done. so when leaving for diner i thought: lets go to reception and ask for clean towels at least. arrived at the desk. host is on the phone. so another lady arrives at the desk, notices me and does not even ask if i can be helped. another couple arrive and ask her questions and are being helped pronto. slightly uncomfortable i walk towards her. another customer(prob equally annoyed) who arrived after me, jumps the que and is also being helped. when he leaves i say a bit more worried "hallo" and get the suprise of my life. "sorry sir, i normally dont work here so i cant help you." so first noticing me, helping other customers and before i can even ask my question, the motel one brand promise evaporates in front of my eyes. what good is wearing that bright tshirt in the first place?||so i raise both arms and with a louder voice: "Hallo customer here. is there anybody that is willing to help me, i paid some money for not being ignored."| this is the censored version btw, otherwise no story on tripadvisor. the lady on the phone suddenly disappears and the other blue shirt lady stands frozen like a greek statue. f.... it, and very irritated i leave. than blue shirt frozen-like-a-statue steps behind the desk and follows me and said: "sir it was not my intention to ignore you. i dont have any problems with people like you."|(please stop for a second and try to see this scene in front of you. especially the look on my face and the feeling inside me. how could things turn so bad suddenly)||so i reply: "you see me wait, 2 other customers that arrive after me you do help and when i raise my voice you tell me that it was not your intention? and later even that you have no prob with people like me?how much more ignorant can this event become? the conversation continues like this for a small moment and than a small "sorry" escapes her mouth followed by; "ask what you want and maybe i can help you". ||eureka-moments do exist even with blue shirted staff. that did neither hurt or was too scientific. and you know, she could even manage the clean towels. back in my room in the morning, the sheets were even cleaned.||so the rule is that if you have a non- disturbance sign on your door till 14.00h, your room does not get cleaned. they leave you a note on the door. ||since i arrive daily around 6.30h in the morning in my room, that means no clean sheets or towels at all. so today before diner i go back to my friends of the blue coloured shirts at reception. miss hölsl hears my story and gets her collegue to hear my story as well. she couldnt hide non-verbally feeling like bambi looking in bright trucklights.(ohoh someone messed up and it is so not her job to deal/ solve it) ||her collegue hears my story and keeps repeating that after 14.00h no more cleaning of the rooms because that is the policy of the hotel. |123456...breath in and out...i can do this....we are here for a solution not to debate hotelpolicy. i did not pay to have my room not cleaned for 4 nights. is this so hard to understand? she feels my irritation and comes up with the solution a new room. tired of discussing my situation again i agree. i explain my previous experience when arriving about their interpretation of a quiet room. she ignores it and keeps repeating that i do have to keep in mind that after 14.00h the rooms dont get cleaned anymore and that the next day no clean room/towels etc||"quality never stands stills".... well try again with another customer. not with this...

The service has been very friendly, and dealt pretty well with me not knowing the local language.

This place is pretty "barebones" to most Americans. The idea isn't luxury, it is more an emphasis on comfort, which I personally prefer. I don't know what it is about this hotel, and the small room I was in, but it was the first time I've ever had an easy time sleeping in a hotel. I'm one of those people that always ends up tossing and turning, and never getting any sleep. Here, that was not the case. Slept easily.

The rooms are a mixture between older charm and modern. And I like it. You can tell that the place has been around, but that is in no way a negative.

The "motel/hotel" thing may also cause some confusion. I assure you, this is nothing like a cruddy Motel 6.

If you need to stay in the area, I highly suggest it. Though I will mention, there's not a lot to do immediately around it. I was happy and...

First time staying in a Motel One and being in Hamburg. Was only here for a few days but my time I spent in the hotel was excellent. Immaculate presentation from lobby through to rooms. The rooms were very well designed, minimal, very clean. Everything felt like new. Aesthetically the bathroom was perfect! All matte black shower and super minimal like the room. The bar had a range of drinks and I had some whisky (which was very expensive but was happy to spend the money for some Lagavulin). Never had a chance to try the breakfast but I heard good things.

Overall very nice hotel with friendly staff and a good bar! What more can...
